U16 Central League Div 3 Lispole 0-12 Austin Stacks 3-9
A powerful last 15 mins in which we kicked 2-2 without response saw our Under 16b’s progress to the semi finals of this competition with four out of five wins. Missing a number of regulars David O’Brien and Robert Prenderville made their debuts for the Rock. James O’Connor was given the onerous task of competing against the brilliant Brian Ryall of Lispole in midfield and it was O’Connors tenacity in sticking to this task which won the day for us. His goal in the final moments was the icing on the cake of a fine performance from a side who trailed at half time by two points. New captain Aidan McQuinn excelled at full back as did Anthony Moynihan while Niall Carroll Cane competed with great effect in midfield. Up front Daragh O’Carroll had two fine points while Craig Corcoran goaled at a critical juncture. Man of the Match: Sam Nealon (Stacks).
