Our under 16As failed to capitalise on a host of chances and came away from Ardfert on Monday with no good result, following an eagerly fought contest. We raced into a six point lead early on with Breandán Caball and Kyle Fitzgibbon dominant in the full-forward line. However, we squandered a host of chances including a missed penalty to allow Ardfert back into the game and it was they, following a penalty conversion, who went in two points ahead at am sosa. Wave after wave of attacks were launched, stemming primarily from our half back line of Dylan Harnett, Conor Jordan and Joseph O’Kelly, but led to a host of chances going astray. Ardfert showed customary tenacity to withstand this pressure but, despite having two goals disallowed, we must learn to take our chances better in the months ahead. Man of the Match- Conor Jordan.
