Austin Stacks 5- 17 Laune Rangers 5 – 4
Another great night in Connolly Park where our Under 12’s continued their great run with a fine victory over their friends from Killorglin. Again there was some terrific performances all over the field with Robbie Murphy again excelling in goals. He was a real find for us this year and he cleared a few balls with his weak leg which is great. Of course all goalies need good protection and Dylan Casey and Harry O’Callaghan did just that in defence. Michael Linnane again fielded some high ones and Hugh Healy adapted very well when he was drafted in at the last minute. Ciaran O’Reilly and David Fitzmaurice were very good at midfield and were ably assisted by Gearoid Sheehan (the scoring machine himself). Joseph O’Connor had his moments with John Holmes and Donagh Mc Kivergan having fine games also. It was great to see the lads put 17 points on the board and when the goals are capped at five it was good to see some nice points being taken. Back to training in Connolly Park on Friday night at 7 pm.

Austin Stacks 5- 10 Laune Rangers 5- 03
Our other Under 12 team (mainly under 11 players) had another excellent night in Connolly Park in front of the home crowd. Trailing by a goal to nil after 1 minute one would think our lads would cave in but no not these lads, they knuckled down and put on a terrific performance to finish out comfortable winners by 7 points having being up 3 6 to 3- 2 at half time. Captained by Ronan Foley who had a really solid game in defence. He was excellent when he went into goals for us as well: well done Ronan. Others to shine were Ian Dillane, who became a roving half back, Alan Dore who starred in attack and in goals and the very solid Simon Drachici in defence. The mid field pairing of Eoin Lynch and Cian Holden was a real winner. Eoin made a great job of marking his opposite number who was a big lad and Cian ran his socks off all night chipping in some lovely scores with both his left and right leg. The coaches love to see both legs being used effectively. You just couldn’t stop Kieran ‘Kiwi’ Killeen and Dean O’Connell, lively isn’t the word for these two. Cian Mc Auliffe had another mighty game getting a few lovely points. Darragh O’Sullivan proved he could play any where, he started in goals and played in the backs and forwards. Evan O’Connor made a massive difference when he came on in the second half. Overall these guys are fantastic and played really well together using the ball very effectively most of the time. Well done lads and keep the practice up at home. We were sorry to hear that one of our stars of our U 11’s Roan Moore is leaving us to travel with his family to Panama in the US. Ronan is a really good young fellow and was progressing really well with his football, he has a mighty left leg and was working hard on his right one.Best to luck to you Ronan, your Mom Catherine and Dad Dermot and to your family in the States and hopefully everything goes well for you all there. We hope to see you back playing for ‘the Rockies’ some day soon. Training again on Friday at 7 pm in Connolly Park.
