U12 Girls Co. League commenced last night (May 16th). Austin Stacks have entered 2 teams in the competition as we are delighted to report that we have 40 active players in this age group. Great credit due to management team of Owen, Anthony, Siobhan & Marion .
Our 1st game saw our Div 1 team at home to Scartaglin while our Div 4 team played away to Kilcummin. The Div 1 team emerged victorious on a score line of: Austin Stacks 8-1 Scartaglin 3-6 (Half time: 5-1 to 0-3). This competitive and enjoyable game was played at a sunny Bishops Field on Tuesday evening, with Anthony Moriarty and Marion Sayers’ team proving the stronger in the end despite a second-half comeback by the girls from Scartaglin. Our 2nd U12 team were playing in Div 4 away to a very strong Kilcummin side and despite putting in a very gutsy performance were well beaten on the night. Next week’s fixtures as follows: Div 1 away to Cromane & Div 4 home to Moyvane both games on Tuesday May 23rd.
