The semi final of the Co. League played in a less than ideal pitch in Fossa on this Wednesday evening (22nd Aug) ended all square after a brilliant second half performance by our boys.
Kilgarvan made full use of the strong breeze in the first half and lead at the break by 0-8 to 0-3 – our scores coming from two Paul Daly frees and a beauty from play by Danny Maguire.
Paul pointed again from a free a minute after the resumption, and then the game looked done and dusted two minutes later when Kilgarvan had another goal and a point on the board to leave them ahead by eight at that stage.
But we dug deep from then on and whittled away at that lead with two more pointed frees from Paul Daly and one each from play by Kieran McCaughley (what a game Cox had in that second half), Danny Maguire and Joe Brennan. But Kilgarvan, with three of their own, still had a commanding six points advantage (1-12 to 0-9) with ten minutes remaining.
