Stacks Ladies Club News 15th July, 2025.

July 15, 2025 By Elma Nix

Girls Academy:  Our U10s headed out to St. Pats in Blennerville last Wednesday for a very enjoyable evening of Go Games V the home side.  Last Sunday morning our U8s hosted Na Gaeil for some exciting challenge games.  Our 6s and 10s trained at 11am.  Updates on all matches and training will be posted in your Team groups.

U12:  We will head to Cromane this Wednesday evening for the next round of Lee Strand Summer Go Games.  Throw in 6.15pm.

U13:  Last Sunday evening we welcomed Na Gaeil to Connolly Park in the second round of the U13 Billy Kissane Meats North Kerry Ladies Football With both teams having won their opening games, this was always going to be a great game and so it transpired. From the throw and in wet conditions, the two teams went score for score, resulting in a cracking game from start to finish. Captained by Sophie Pigott, Stacks worked a number of well taken goals and points. HT score AS 3-2, NG 2-4.

Stacks continued to score some excellent scores, but Na Gaeil stayed in touch throughout. In a frenetic ending, Stacks got a couple of great scores to cling on to victory. Final score: AS 5-6, NG 4-6.  All the Stacks girls showed real grit and determination, every one of them a true Rockie!!  Hats off to both teams for serving up a cracker for all in attendance. Thanks to the referee Frank, and the Na Gaeil team and management for a fine sporting game.  Team: Ailbhe Sheehy, Annabelle Slattery, Ashling Trant, Caoimhe Madden, Ciara Cronin, Emily Savage, Emma O’Shea, Faith Breen, Kate Kirby, Kate Murphy, Macy Reidy, Mya Dennehy, Niamh Bolger, Sophie Ferriter, Sophie Pigott, Tara Silva and Taylor Healy.  (Thanks to Mike Dennehy for his report).  We have a bye this week.
U14: We hope to arrange a challenge game for the girls shortly.  Training continues on Wednesday evenings from 5.45pm to 7pm.
U16/18:  The commencement of the U16 Co. League has been pushed back to facilitate Kerry’s participation in the Al Final on Wed July 16th.  The Co. League was to commence on Friday July 18th with an away from Beaufort, this match is now postponed for a few weeks as both teams were struggling for numbers due to a combination of factors.  Training goes ahead every Monday & Thursday from 6.30 to 7.30pm.  The U18 North Kerry League is set to commence this week – we are scheduled to play Moyvane in Rd 1 at home match details tbc

Senior Ladies:  Corrib Oil Senior League Rd 2 FT Abbeydorney 1-6 Austin Stacks 2-9.
