Stacks defeat Dr Crokes in glorious sunshine

Austin Stacks recorded their first victory in this year’s County League against their aged old rivals Dr Crokes this Sunday in Connolly Park.
It would be all of eleven minutes before we got the opening score a point from Micheal O’Donnell followed shortly afterwards by points from Jordan Kissane and Ryan O’Driscoll.

Alex Hennigan had Crokes first point Cian McMahon had another after nineteen Minutes of play and within a minute Ryan O’Driscoll had a point followed by a goal
from Ryan after a pass from Rolo making it a five point game.

Cian Mulcahy and David Fitzmaurice exchanged points on twenty six minutes Ryan O’Driscoll made it a six point game and within a minute Cian McMahon
replied with a pointed free. Stacks finished the half strongly with a Jordan Kissane point and we had the first two pointer of the game from Jordan just before the break.

Ryan O’Driscoll had stacks opening point of the second half followed by 2x2ptf from the boot of Conor Horan.
Colm Browne after a great solo run and Ryan with another point increased the lead to 1-16 to 0-4 with five minutes of the second half gone.
Jack O’Sullivan and Gavin Casey traded points and then we had points from Maidhci Lynch and Cian Mulcahy followed by a Stacks goal from Conor Horan making it a 2-17 to 0-7 after ten minutes.

Then we had 4 in a row scores for Crokes Chris Doncel and a Billy Courtney 1/45 with points and a Cian Mulcahy goal followed by a Mark Fitzgerald point.
What Crokes could do Stacks went one better with five unanswered points from Michael O’Donnell,Colin Griffin,Ryan O’Driscoll,Jack Murphy and sub Conor Myers before Cian McMahon replied for Crokes.
