Our Senior Ladies held their Co. Intermediate Championship Medal presentation night in the club last Saturday night (Feb17th). (The team captured the title in an epic final V Na Gaeil last September by virtue of a 1 point win FT Stacks 1-14 Na Gaeil 1-13). Medals were presented by Niall Lucey, son of the late Paul, who of course was part of the winning management team. Team Captain Norma O’Connor & Jemma O’Connell, on behalf of the team, presented Niall with a framed photograph of Paul signed by all the team. The beautiful photograph, taken by our own Adrienne Mc Loughlin, captures Paul in the midst of dispatching instructions during a half time break as the girls surround him in a team huddle. As the old adage goes ‘a picture paints a thousand words’ and this photo perfectly captured the utmost respect, trust & affection which existed between this bunch of girls and Paul. We thank Niall & family for attending on what was a very special but poignant night for everyone involved. Special thanks to Jemma O’Connell who arranged the evening. We wish the team the best for 2018 as they make the big step up to Senior grade. The girls are back training with a gym session during the week and a field session planned for next Sunday.
