FEBRUARY IN THE PAST: The second week in February almost always saw our Seniors and Minors in action in the Town League. In 2019 both had good wins over Kerins O’Rahillys – our Seniors 4-8 to 2-8 and our Minors 2-15 to 1-8. SF Scorers – Shane O’Callaghan (3-4), Gearóid Fitzgerald (1-1), Darragh Scanlon, Fiachna Mangan and Donagh McKivergan (0-1 each). MF Scorers – Shane Bastible (1-2), Conor Myers (0-5), Padhraic Linnane (1-0), Dara Barry Walsh and Seán Quilter (0-3 each) and Daniel O’Rourke (0-2).
In 2018 our Seniors had another good win over O’Rahillys (1-12 to 0-9) while our Minors had eight points to spare over Na Gaeil (4-9 to 0-13). Senior Scorers – Michael O’Donnell (0-5), Donagh McKivergan (1-0), Theo Diggin (0-2), Conor Jordan, Pa McCarthy, Jack O’Shea, Shane O’Callaghan and Darragh O’Brien (0-1 each). Minor Scorers – Michael Slattery (2-1), Dean Scanlon (1-1), Seán Carmody (1-0), Donagh McMahon (0-2), Dylan Casey, David Couchman, Adam Curran, Daniel O’Rourke, and Tom O’Farrell (0-1 each).
In recent times two great Club men passed away during the second week in February – Denna Fitzgerald in 2003 (12th Feb) and Mick Ryan in 2017 (13th Feb).

BEST OF LUCK: to our Co. Board delegate, Eddie Barrett and his wife Pauline who have announced their retirement from their Auctioneering business after a life-time in the job. Their daughter, Doireann will of course continue to with the family name as she continues in Rea North’s at Ivy Terrace.
CONGRATULATIONS: to three Club Footballers Seamus Bastible, Denis Costello and Kieran Donaghy on the addition of three more budding footballers for the Club – two for our Ladies teams and one for the Mens. Denis and Jane had a baby girl, Naoise; Kieran and Hillary had a baby girl, Ruby and Seamus and Erin had a baby boy, Corey.

CLUB LOTTO: Monday Night’s (8th Feb) Jackpot, worth €13,400, was not won. The numbers drawn were 5, 17, 18, 28.
