ANNIVERSARY: In his day he was regarded as one of the most outstanding Sports Journalists of all time. He was known both far and wide as PF (Paddy Foley). He was Sports Editor of the Kerryman Newspaper for many years and their principle GAA Journalist from the day he started in August 1923 (one hundred years ago last week) until his last column 43 years later in August 1966. PF passed away later that year (6th Nov. 1966).
JOHN BARRY: And speaking of Sports Journalists/Editors what a lovely article last week in the Kerryman by our own John Barry recalling his days as a Hurler with the Rock and especially with our 1968 Co. Final game against Crotta. John was one of the great dual players in the Club at that time and was a prominent member of those great Rock Hurling teams of the late 1960s/ early 70s who contested three Co. Finals (1968, 1969and 1974) and could have won at least one if not all three of those Finals.
And well done to Crotta as they bridged that55 year gap to win their 10th SH Co. Championship title last Sunday, winning by three points (0-15 to 1-9) against neighbours, Lixnaw.
CLUB CARDS: Our Card sessions continue in the Clubhouse on Mondays and Thursdays with the starting time of 9pm sharp. .

Next week’s Jackpot will be worth €4, 550.
