MINOR FOOTBALL: After two good victories against Ballymac and Ardfert in the opening rounds of the Tralee/St. Brendans League our Minors were due to begin their Co. SENIOR FOOTBALL; Austin Stacks 0-9; John Mitchels 0-8.
After a good win against Na Gaeil in the opening round our Seniors just had a one point win away to a good John Mitchels team in the second round of the Tralee/St. Brendans League on last Sunday afternoon (19th Feb.).
Playing into an almost gale-force wind in the first half we trailed by five points to two at the break – our two points coming from a Seán Quilter free in the 16th minute and one from play by Michael O’Gara in the 28th minute.
Eighteen minutes into the second half the sides were level on six points each with all our four coming from frees – three by Michael O’Donnell and the other from Seán Quilter. Three minutes later we went ahead for the first time in the game when Donagh McKivergan pointed from play. Mitchels took the lead again when they added two more points shortly after. However another Sean Quilter pointed free in the 60th minute leveled matters again and a minute later Shane O’Callaghan put over the winner from play
Our third and final round game away to Ardfert which is fixed for Sunday March 5th at 12pm.
Team: Ben Quilter, Paul O’Sullivan, Barry Walsh, Ronan Shanahan, Jack Murphy, Dean Rusk, Eoghan Carroll, Michael O’Donnell (0-3 frees), Seán Quilter (0-3 frees), Seán Ryan, Shane Carroll, Adam Curran, Donagh McKivergan (0-1), Shane O’Callaghan (0-1), Conor Myers.

INTERMEDIATE CO. CHAMPIONSHIP: We have been drawn with Ballydonoghue, Castleisand Desmond and John Mitchels in Group 4 of this season’s Int. Co. Championship. KERRY SF: Good to see Dylan Casey making a significant contribution with Kerry last Saturday. Dylan, along with Seán O’Shea and David Clifford were introduced at half time in the NFL game against Mayo and during that second half Kerry outscored the opposition by 1-7 to 0-6.
KERRY FC: Even though they didn’t come away with a victory last Friday night it was still a very historic occasion in Mounthawk Park as Kerry FC began their campaign in the League of Ireland. And those who couldn’t get to the game were treated to a great Radio Kerry commentary on the occasion by our own Andrew Morrissey.
CLUB CARDS: Our Card sessions continue in the Clubhouse on Mondays and Thursdays with the starting time of 9pm sharp.
