2024 Intermediate Club Championship, Semi Final:
Match Report by Tim Slattery
Stacks are through to the final against Laune Rangers who between them have won 23 Senior County Championships. This is a novel pairing between these two great Club sides as they have never met in Senior or Intermediate finals down the years.
Stacks playing with the wind opened the scoring in the 1st minute with a point from the boot of Donagh McKivergan and was followed shortly after with two more points from play by Paddy Lane.
Gavan O’Grady had Glenbeigh/Glencar’s opening score from a free in the 7th minute and four minutes later Donagh restored Stacks three point advantage.
Midway through the half Caolim Teahan from a free and a fine Joe O’Connor point from play maintained Stacks lead.
We had to wait another ten minutes before the next score from Cian Purcell
and then we had further points from Darran O’Sullivan and Donagh’s third point of the match before the interval.
Half Time Austin Stacks 0-7 Glenbeigh/Glencar 0-4

Midway through the half Jack O’Shea from a Michael O’Donnell pass had a good point and three minutes later Joey Nagle popped up to score a beauty after good work by Fiachna Mangan.
Dylan Casey was at the end of a good move between Paddy Lane and Cian Purcell to fire over another point to leave five points between the sides.
