AUSTIN STACKS – ONE CLUB – STRONGER TOGETHER

FOREWORD
The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA) and Camogie Association (CA) will integrate into one association in 2027. We’ll have one association for Gaelic games where we’ll all belong with the common aim of promoting Gaelic games and Irish culture. In one association, Gaelic games will grow from strength to strength under a single administration with a common bond between all members.
The integration of GAA, LGFA and CA will allow one association function more efficiently, effectively and inclusively. Unlike the current situation, every club that offers one or more of men’s football, ladies’ football, camogie and hurling, will affiliate to one association. Consequently, it will be easier to streamline activities, fixtures and finances at club, county, provincial and national level.
This momentous step towards unity is a testament to the three associations shared goal of creating an environment of excellence, a product of quality and a holistic development of players. The one association will foster the growth of Gaelic games and contribute to the overall health and wellbeing of its members. It will value the vital role of women in sport, emphasising inclusion, respect, equality and togetherness.
The Steering Group for Integration (SGI), chaired by Mary McAleese has provided a pathway to an historic development of one association for all Gaelic games. There is now a roadmap and a timeline to deliver an exciting future for all three associations under one banner.
ONE CLUB
Austin Stacks will be one club as and from 2027 so it’s time to prepare diligently for a unitary club based on equality, inclusion, respect and togetherness. From now on we need to prepare for a future as one club where each one of us is a respected and valued member. Relationships, regard and cooperation between our two clubs has always been good so that the solid foundation for integration is already in place. Our two clubs should transition seamlessly into a single and powerful unit, but the more we prepare the easier it will be to hit the ground running in 2027.
With the objective of achieving one club based on the mission, values, objectives, standards and achievements of the ladies’ and gents’ clubs, a forum is being provided to give each artery of both clubs and each member of both clubs an opportunity to submit your views, suggestions, opinions and concerns about any and all aspects of our journey to 2027.
Billy Ryle, Club Vice-Chairman is undertaking a process of information gathering over the next few months with a view to preparing and presenting a discussion document for the consideration of our joint membership. Billy will scope and consult as widely as possible throughout the two clubs in order to produce a document with which all of us can identify.
Billy will meet with the Ladies, Gents and Juvenile Club Executives to outline the process, to enlist their support for the exercise and to request a submission from each Executive.
He will then be available to meet and /or accept a submission from any subgroups within our clubs who wish to be part of the process. Areas that need to be addressed and included in the final report include
· ONE CLUB LEADERSHIP STRUCTURES
· ONE MEMBERSHIP
· ONE INJURY BENEFIT FUND
· ONE FINANCIAL ACCOUNT
· ONE SUPPORTERS GROUP
· ONE SPONSORSHIP PACKAGE FOR ALL
