2024 Intermediate Club Championship, Quarter Final:

Match Report by Tim Slattery
Stacks qualified for the Semi/final against Glenbeigh/Glencar with a workmanlike performance over a Legion side who battled right to the end.
Stacks opened the scoring on two minutes after Daniel Kirby was fouled in the square and Adam Curran’s kick went in off the upright.
Paddy Lane added a point from an Armin Heinrich pass but Legion had three in a row points from David O’Sullivan two from frees and one from play to leave one point between the sides.
Barry Shanahan and Cian Gammell exchanged points and within a minute Paddy Lane pointed a free after a foul on Fiachna Mangan.
Fiachna had a point from play after an interchange of passes midway through the half to make it a three point game.
Paul O’Sullivan after taking a pass from Greg kicked a great point only for Cian Gammell to kick his second point from play for Legion.
Coming up to the interval we had three frees in a row Darragh Lyne and David O’Sullivan pointed for the away side and Paddy Lane for Stacks after a foul on Greg.
Half Time Austin Stacks 1-6 Killarney Legion 0-7
Stacks reeled off two quick points after the interval from Greg Horan and Joe O’Connor.
Peter McCarthy from play had Legion’s first point of the second half on eleven minutes to leave three points between the sides 1-8 to 0-8.
Stacks scored their second goal on seventeen minutes when Paddy Lane applied the finishing touch after a great run by Joe O’Connor.
David O’Sullivan had two Legion points from frees and Joe O’Connor replied for Stacks in a three minute spell to make it a five point game.
Legion finished strongly and had three unanswered points from Substitute Ryan O’Grady one from a free and a David O’Sullivan free his seventh of the game to leave two points between the sides.

2024 Intermediate Club Championship Semi Final:

Calling All Rockies; This Sunday our Senior Men are in the Kerry GAA Intermediate Club Championship Semi Final for the secons year in a row. Our opponents on Sunday will be Glenbeigh/Glencar with the game starting at 2pm in Fitzgerald Stadium Killarney. So please come along with your Black & Amber colours and dont forget your Voice’s. CLUB LOTTO:
This week’s (19th August) Jackpot worth €4100 was not won.

The numbers drawn were €4100 was not won. The five €20 winners were; Batt Bastible c/o The Club, Noel O’Connell c/o The Club, Brian Shanahan c/o The Club, Kieran Moynihan c/o The Club, Breda Fitzellc/o The Club. Next Week’s Jackpot will be worth €4150.

Club Cards
Our card sessions continue in the Clubhouse on Mondays and Thursdays with the starting time of 9pm sharp.

 

Club Bar:
We have plenty of live sport this week to keep you entertained. The main sporting highlight this weekend will see our senior men taking on Glenbeigh/Glencar in the Intermediate Club Championship Semi Final on Sunday at 2pm live streamed in the club bar. Keep up to date with all the live sport we have to offer on our Bar’s social media pages. Opening times this week for the Club Bar are as follows,
