Reverting to a new role at the fulcrum of the attack Sean Ryan capped a tremendous hour on the forty with two well taken goals. Forced to start without a host of regulars a depleted Stacks outfit controlled this game from the outset. Barry Walsh now operating at midfield also got a goal but it was it was his midfield partner Ciaran Flanagan who really caught the eye. We led 2-7 to 1-4 the break with under 16 Sean Dukes terrorising the Ardfert rearguard time and time again.
Played on a very heavy Ballyrickard surface our dominating continued after the break with Sean Hurley, Anthony Moynihan and Dylan Harnett impenetrable at the back. The brilliant James Galvin was withdrawn as a precautionary measure after 40min with Kerry minor star Greg Horan given some game time. Captain Shane Greensmith took to his new berth at wing forward with aplomb aided on the other wing by the impressive Timmy Murphy.
That’s two wins from two games for the minors with an away game v a NaGaeil/Ballymac combination next weekend to come.
