Austin Stacks 3-17 Kilcummin 2-15 After extra time.
What a pulsating match, end to end stuff.
Stacks were two points up three minutes in with scores from Megan O’Brien and Caoimhe Barry Walsh (free), Kilcummin were next to score a point, then Marina Barry Walsh scored, a great opportunist goal soccer style, followed by a point from Breda Slattery to leave Stacks 1-3 to 0-1 after seven minutes. Kilcummin hit 1-2 without reply to level the match at 1-3 each, Aoife Brick had Stacks’ next score only for Kilcummin to level again, then Megan O’Brien goaled from a pass by Laura Rogers, followed by a point from Marina to leave Stacks four ahead. Caoimhe and Megan had points followed by two from Kilcummin.
Half Time Stacks 2-7 Kilcummin 1-6. Laura Rogers had Stacks opening point in the second half. Kilcummin had a point followed by another from Megan O’Brien to push Stacks five ahead on thirty four minutes. Kilcummin with two frees and a goal levelled the match on forty four minutes. Breda Slattery and Nicky Sheehy were next on the scoreboard. Kilcummin hit back with two in a row to level the match. Full Time Austin Stacks 2-11 Kilcummin 2-11.
Extra Time Kilcummin scored first, followed by a Megan O’Brien free. Kilcummin were back in front only for Megan with a free to tie the match. Mollie O’Carroll and Laura pushed the Rockies two up, followed by a Megan free.
Ht in Extra Time Stacks 2-16 Kilcummin 2-13.
Second Half Kilcummin had the next two points to leave one between the sides, then Meadbh with a point and a great goal sealed victory for Stacks. The Brogue Inn Cup was presented to Karena Slattery winning Captain after the match.
