Our county champion U14’s displayed signs of their long lay off as they stumbled over the line against a game Dingle side on Friday evening in Connolly Park. Without regulars Rory Hill, Daniel Kinsella, Colin Griffin and Daragh Scanlon manager Brian Morgan was forced to dig deep into the reserves with two under 12’s Ciaran O’Reilly and David Fitzmaurice drafted in. Indeed these two provided the inspiration for victory with Fitzmaurice lethal in attack and O’Reilly mopping up time and time again in defence. We led by three at half time and the game was in the melting pot up untill the end when county stars Mike O’Donnell and Calvin Foley produced moments of magic to settle the tie. Others to impress were Ferdia O’Brien in the corner, Fergal Ryan who bagged a couple of fine goals, Dylan Hennebrey in defence and Sean Dukes in midfield.
