Nanette was a niece of Austin Stack. Her husband was Tommy Barrett – a winner of two All Ireland SF medals with Kerry (1930-1931) and a winner of five SF and three SH Co. Championship medals with The Rock (1928-1936). And her son, Eddie, to this day has been mentor of many teams and held various roles on the Club Executive down the years, including Club Chairman and Co. Board Delegate. As well as being an avid Rock supporter Nanette was a staunch Republican and a staunch feminist before it was popular to be one. She was a keen Irish speaker and a founding member of the Festival of Kerry in 1959. She ran a very successful Modelling Agency in Princes Street for many years. She was 79 years of age when she passed away peacefully on this day (27th Jan 1995) twenty five years ago.
