On the night when the Club formally launched Colin Teahon’s (former Club footballer) sponsorship of the Senior team, that team did Colin and all supporters proud with an accomplished performance in round 4 of the Co. League played in Connolly Park on last Saturday evening (14th May).
Fiachna Mangan pointed after just twenty eight seconds with Rahillys equalising a minute later.
By the 10th minute we had tagged on a further five points to one for the opposition – Graham O’Connell with two from frees and three from play by Wayne Gutherie, Darragh Long and Shane O’Callaghan were on target.
We added three more points in the second quarter to one again for the visitors. Darragh Long and Mikey Collins (the score of the game) from play and another Graham O’Connell converted free were our scorers.
This left us ahead by 0-9 to 0-3 at half time.
We kept up the pressure in the second half and after eight minutes had added 1-3 without reply and missed a penalty as well. Our three points came from Graham (free), William Kirby and Mikey Collins and the goal by Darragh Long.
Rahillys came more into the game after that, scoring four points to our two (a Graham O’Connell free and the other from play by David Mannix).
In the end we had ten points to spare.
