A wind swept Connolly Park provided the venue for a facile victory for our Under 16A side in their opening game of the season on Friday evening. Backboned by seven players (Greg Horan, Kyle Fitzgibbon, Conor Jordan, Joseph O’Kelly (capt), Breandán Caball, Éamonn McAllen and Barry Walsh) who had performed so admirable for the minor side in their county league campaign, we led at half time by three points…. 1-6 to 0-6. However, aided by a gale we notched up 3-7 with no reply in the second period. Daragh O’Carroll returned after a lay off to start at wing back and Tommy Nicholson also reaquainted himself, coming on in the second half.
