Dr. Crokes were deserving winners of this season’s Molyneaux Cup. In the Co. Final, played in ideal conditions under lights in Caherslee on this Friday evening (19th Oct), they won by four clear goals. We can have no excuses. Scoring one point from play during the whole hour tells its own story. And that was our first score of the game, in the 4th minute – a super effort by Fiachna Mangan. Two pointed frees by Joey O’Connor saw us trail at half time by 0-6 to 0-3.
We just scored one more in the second half – a 51st minute free by Ciaran O’Connell while the opposition added a further 2-4.
However well done to the whole squad (including team mentors Seanie Power, Paddy Creagh and Kevin O’Carroll) for some outstanding displays during the whole season.
