Na Stacaigh -JUVENILE BOYS – 29th June

June 29, 2026 By Maurice MacNamara

SUMMER CAMP: Gach éinne ag baint taitneamh as an gcampa peile i gConnolly. Our Cúl Camp is taking place this week…29th June to 3rd July…great skills being learned and great skills being shown by our youngsters.

PEIL FAOI 6/8: (i) Our U6 and U8 Academy boys will be on the go on Thursday at 6pm. (ii) They’ll have another memorable morning of football on Sunday morning next, 25h July, at 10.55am. Feicfimid sibh Dé Domhnaigh. Newcomers welcome! (N.Eoin Ó hÉigeartaigh)

PEIL FAOI 9:Next Sunday, 25h July, boys, at 10.55am….’see you all!

PEIL FAOI 10: (i) We hope to see all the U10s at 10.50am on Sunday morning next, 5th July i gCathair Sailí. Don’t forget the gumshield…chun aire a thabhairt dos na fiacla gleoite deasa bána sláintiúla. Newcomers welcome! (ii) What a brilliant GoGames evening of peil aoibhinn a bhí againn v Fosadh i bPáirc Uí Chonghaile on Wednesday 24th at 6.15pm. (iii) And did you see Adrienne’s last week’s photos on The Rock web/facebook page after the Austin Stack Club v the Kerins-O’Rahilly Club GoGames evening at Healy Park? These GoGames are fun and are well supported by parents, siblings, grannies, grandads and general club supporters. Nice gatherings of The Rock family! Some great football and team skills are being taught by our coaching mentors and are certainly being learned by our boys! Well done to all involved. (iv) The older U10 boys (born in 1916) will play in the Munster Council U11 invitational blitz in Fitzgerald Stadium on Tuesday 14th July. (v) Everybody is looking forward to the upcoming Phase 2 of the GoGames…mar atá.…1st July (Wednesday next): AdeS (ag baile; at home) v Fosadh; 15th July (Wednesday): Na Crócaigh v AdeS (as baile; away); 29th July (Céadaoin): AdeS (ag baile) v B/mac; 26th August (Céadaoin): An Ráth Mhór v AdeS (as baile); 9th September (Dé Céadaoin): AdeS (ag baile) v Ard Fhearta. (Colm Ó Mongáin, Adrienne Mhic Lochlainn)

PEIL FAOI 11: Agus, mar bharr an sonas, all our boys who were born in 2016 (100 years after The Rising of 1916) will make an exciting trip to famed Fitzgerald Stadium on Tuesday 14th JULY to partake in an U11 Blitz and to be given a tour of the stadium. Excitement, a dhuine!! (Colm Ó Mongáin)

CAID FAOI 11/12: We’re proud of our lads’ great efforts so far this season and we look forward to the next U12 challenge. Ar aghaidh linn! (Cóilín Ó Tíocháin)

CAID FAOI 14: Our U14s are in serious training mode right now! Now, that the exams are over, our on-pitch work has resumed and will continue at 7pm on Tuesdays and at 11am on Sundays. The Rock U14s are preparing for their upcoming challenges! (Jonathan Magnier)

FÉILE PEILE na nÓG: Matters didn’t fall in our favour at the Derry Féile Peile na nÓg last weekend. Even though we were winners of our group, we were knocked out on ‘scores conceded.’ Here are the very interesting results:
The Rock results: GAME 1…AdeS: 3-8 (17); Ballinascreen 2-4 (10); GAME 2…AdeS: 1-6 (9); Claregalway: 2-3 (9)…a draw; our total scored: 0-26; our total conceded: 0-19.
Claregalway results: GAME 1…Claregalway: 1-4 (7); Ballinascreen 0-6 (6); GAME 2: Claregalway: 2-3 (9); AdeS: 1-6 (9)…a draw; their total scored: 0-16; their total conceded: 0-15.
The verdict (emanating from above results): because we drew our head-to-head match, the tie breaker goes down to ‘overall lowest score conceded’ in the group stage. Claregalway conceded 0-15 in total and qualified for the Cup section. AdeS conceded 0-19 in total and qualified to Shield section. Even though we outscored Claregalway overall by 0-10 (0-26 to 0-16), the official Féile rules simply reward the tightest defence. Bhí drochsheans linn agus mí-ádh! Ar cheart na rialacha a uasdátú?
Ach bhí turas an-mhaith ag meantóirí, ag lucht leanúna agus ag peileadóirí na Carraige. It was a very worthwhile trip and a good experience; and we were among the best footballers in the country. Thanks to everyone. Thanks to all who contributed to the Féile Peile na nÓg Derry trip fund. Our Féile Peile na nÓg boys: Odhrán Ó Riagáin, Ben Mac Gabhann, Conchúr Mag Uidhir, Tadhg Ó Cuanacháin, Camshrón Mac Pháidín, Sé Ó hOdhráin, Dylan Mac Aodhbhuí, Liam Ó Ciarba, Tadhg Ó Luasaigh, Tadhg Ó Riagáin, Mícheál Ó Cearmada, Blake Buidhléir, Oisín Ó hOdhráin, Seán Ó Ciardha, Séimí Ó Cuilleanáin, Anraoi Ó hÉilí [Ó hÉalaithe], Bruno Gryzbowski, Éatan Mac Oisín, Gearóid Ó Tíocháin, Dara Ó Muircheartaigh, Aodh Ó Breasail, Ben Ó Laoire, Séimí Mac Aodhbhuí, Conchúr Mac Canann, Colum Ó Grífín, Anraoi Mag Uidhir. (Gearóid Ó Tíocháin)

MINORS: The County League began on Monday last, June 29th. We travelled out to the Pearse Brothers Club, i gCnoc na hEaglaise, for Round 1. We aquitted ourselves well. We’ll be at home v Laune Rangers on Monday next, 6th July; and our final group game will be against Killarney Legion.

PEIL FAOI 21: ‘Well done’ to our U21s v East Kerry; a good victory…2-21 to 0-19. Ben Murphy was nominated as ‘Laoch an Chluiche.’ An Dubh‘s’Ómrach Abú!

CLUB LOTTO: Thanks to all our club lotto workers, supporters and promoters. Where to do the club lotto:; The Burger Shack, Monavalley; O’Flynn Interiors, Lower Rock Street; Carmel Quilter, AdeS; Kirbys’ Brogue Inn, Lower Rock Street; Husseys’ Deli, Prince’s Quay; Ollmhargadh Chaoimhín de Barra, Upper Rock Street; Paudie Commane’s Bookshop, Rock Street; www.austinstacks.ie.

SEANRÁ: Sea, d’éirigh linn! Yes, we succeeded! Bhí seans Dé linn! The luck of God was with us! Ach bhí sé tuillte againn! But we deserved it!

CIARRAÍ: Peil na bhfear…‘well done’ to Dylan, Joe, Armin, Joey, ‘Star’ and Kerry in aghaidh Thír Eoghain…an-bhua…agus an-chúl ag Armin; go n-éirí leo v Na Dubs ar an 12ú July). Peil na mban…good luck to Aoife and Kerry in aghaidh na Mí next weekend. Up the Green‘n’Gold!

AN tATHAIR PÁDRAIG: We are sad to hear of the impending departure of Fr Pádraig from St Brendans. His presence as PP uplifted people of the parish. Bhí a chroí inár bparóiste agus, cé gur tógadh ina Chrócach é, thug sé tacaíocht mhaith dár gclub le seacht mbliana déag anuas. Guímid gach rath air i bparóiste na nDeasmhumhach. Bail ó Dhia air.
