With both teams having already qualified for the semi final (Mitchels and O’Rahillys will contest the 2nd semi final) the only thing at stake in this evening’s (27th April) final round 5 game played in Connolly Park was who will have home venue for that semi final.
After a rather indifferent first half it looked as if we may be travelling next week, as we managed just two points in that half (Greg Horan in the 1st minute and Kyle Fitzgibbon after 19), while Crokes scored six and were unlucky not to have bagged two goals.However we came out for the second half with all guns blazing and inside five minutes we were level with an Alan Duggan point and a Shane Crowley goal.
Such was the intensity of our second half display that 27 minutes had elapsed before Crokes registered their first score while our score at that stage stood at 2-10. Our second goal came from Eamon McAllen in the 49th minute. All our scores over the 60m came from play.

So the semi final is a repeat of this evening’s game and it’s likely to go ahead in Connolly Park next Friday evening (4th May), probably at 6.45 as extra time will apply if the game ends level after 60m. Watch the web for updates.
