MINOR FOOTBALL:
Austin Stacks 1-11 Kenmare Shamrocks 0-6.
With both sides topping the League table on six points each going into this round 4 game it was touch and go by both sides for the opening twenty minutes of the game with the sides on level terms at 0-4 each – our points coming from David Lucid (2), Ryan O’Driscoll and Alex Tuohy. But we took complete control in the closing minutes of the half when we added a goal (Cormac Bastible) and three more points by Ronan Carroll, Thomas Deregee and Ryan O’Driscoll (his 2nd). This gave us a six points lead at the break (1-7 to 0-4).
Our lads put on a great second half performance holding a very dangerous opposition to just two more points while adding four more ourselves. Cormac was again on target with an early free in the 34th minute and then we had three superb long-distant points from play by team captain Daniel Kirby.
