A final total of 3-3 from Éamonn McAllen was the springboard for a thirteen point victory in a hard fought game in Connolly Park on Monday evening. Stacks led 2-8 to 0-6 at half time, thanks to dominant display from Greg Horan in midfield while Kyle Fitzgibbon and Breandán Caball inspired in the full-forward line. However, Gaeltacht driven on by the brilliant Pól Breathnach and Caoimhín Ó Beaglaoi in midfield battled their way back into the game with two unanswered goals and, but for a penalty save from Brian Horgan, could have taken the lead. However, the introduction of Tommy Nicholson and Ryan Downey settled Stacks and three late goals, two from McAllen and one from Horan settled the game on a final scoreline that didn’t do Gaeltacht justice.
