Our 3rd Strictly Come Dancing fundraiser was held in the Festival Dome last Saturday night and was a huge success. The new venue for this year’s event lended itself to a wonderful atmosphere with the lighting and sound all superb on the night. All 12 couples gave it their all and such was the high standard of dancing that the judges found themselves handing out perfect 10’s on several occasions. Great credit goes to the entire backroom team (too many to mention) who have worked so hard over the last number of months to ensure that everything was in place, but particular thanks to the 2 hard working ladies – Marie Hickey and Siobhan Naughton. Everyone who attended were treated to a fabulous show with most agreeing that Strictly Come Dancing ‘3’ was the best to date. Here are some photographs from the night:

Ted Cronin presents a rose to his waltzing companion Mairead Fernane during last Saturday nights Strictly Come Dancing.
Breda Barron and Phil Healy wow the crowd and the judges – Aidan O’Carroll, Gillian Wharton Slattery, Tim Moynihan and Honor Hurley with the Cha Cha Cha. Think Philip had lessons from another “Cha” – uncle Charlie Healy!
Club Secretary – Catherine Ryan casts her vote – 20% of the overall score came from the judges and 80% from votes cast by audience members.
Norma O’Brien and Wayne Guthrie set the dome alight with their ‘winning’ performance of the Lindy Hop.
Johnny Dowling presents the Helen Dowling trophy to Norma while Mary Barry presents the Jimmy Barry Cup to Wayne. The couple also received a cheque for €500 each for their 2 charities the Tiny Tina Footprint and the Donal Walsh Foundation.
