Austin Stacks have produced some amazing young players in recent years but non more so than the younster from St. John’s Park, Laura Rogers. Laura’s bank holiday weekend started out at 3pm in Ballygran, Co. Limerick last Saturday (July 30th) when she Captained Kerry to win the U16 A Munster Final V Cork on a score line of Kerry 6-13 (31) Cork 7-9 (30). Laura was awarded player of the match. You would think that some relaxation and celebrations would follow – not so. Two days later Monday Aug 1st Laura is back on the field playing for Kerry in the All Ireland Minor A Shield Final V Meath in Banagher – a game which Kerry won on a score line of 1-12 to 1-8. And the player of the match was non other than – Laura Rogers. A remarkable achievement by any standard. But no surprise to anyone who has watched her over recent years. Another champion from the Street of champions! Congrats from everyone in the club to Laura. Well done also to our other Kerry panelist last weekend Charlotte Higgins (minors) and Karina Quilter (U16’s). We are very proud of you all.
