Result: Austin Stacks 1-12 Kinsale 5-19
Austin Stacks represented Kerry in the quarter final of the Munster Junior Football Championship, played in Dromtarriffe, Co. Cork on Saturday 1st October.
The first half was a closely fought encounter, Laura Rogers scoring a goal midway through the half, but Kinsale bounced back immediately with a goal of their own. Kinsale led by 6 points at the break. Austin Stacks began the second half with 3 unanswered points, the deficit now being 3 points, but Kinsale fired home 2 quick goals and continued to attack our hardworking defence, eventually winning convincingly.
Our ladies can be proud of their performance, (they showed strength of character and determination all season,) they tried their best to penetrate the Kinsale defence, but the Cork team were deserved winners in the end.
