Molly O’Carroll – Huge congratulations to one of Kerry’s up and coming Stars – Austin Stacks Molly O’Carroll who was part of the Kerry team that captured Kerry’s first Under 14 A Munster Championship title since 2008 with a deserved 4 point victory over neighbours and long time rivals Cork in Castletownroche last weekend. Everyone at Austin Stacks is very proud of you Molly.
Girls Academy: Our U6, 8’s and 10’s visited Legion GAA club last Saturday morning for some challenge games. Thanks to everyone at Legion for a super morning’s fun. Training returns to Caherslee this Sunday at 11am. Austin Stacks Girls Academy have signed up for the Co. Board’s “Go Games” which will see us play Abbeydorney, Corca Dhuibhe, John Mitchells, Firies and Ballymac so it is important that the girls make training. Match details will be sent out to players by text. The Academy sends Birthday greetings to Rachel Ryan – 13 on the 6th May, Brenda Devane 11 on the 8th of May and Aoife Dillane 12 on the 9th May.
Membership: It is also important to note that all players competing in the Underage Go Games and in Co. League games must be registered so please ensure your membership (now overdue) is paid immediately so that your daughter is eligible to compete in competition.
U12 Girls: Lost out to Abbeydorney in their final game in the preliminary round of the Co. League last Tuesday evening. Having now played 4 games (2 wins, 2 losses) we now await Co. Board re-grading and the Co. League proper to commence. These games are due be played on Tuesday evenings commencing May 13th. In the meantime our final North Kerry Ladies U12 Div. 1 game V Castleisland will go ahead this Wednesday May 8th in Castleisland at 7pm. Team to meet in Connolly Park at 6pm please. Training for this group in Connolly Park every Tuesday at 6pm and every Sunday at 11am.
U14 Girls: Played Legion/Beaufort on Tuesday last (6th May) at 7pm – see www.austinstacks.ie for match result (too late for inclusion in these notes). Training in Connolly park at 5.30pm every Tuesday and Friday.
U16 Girls: Commenced their Co. League campaign last Friday evening losing out to Glenflesk on a score line of Austin Stacks 1-6 Glenflesk 4-8. Our next game sees us away to Fossa this Thursday at 6.30pm.
Senior Ladies: Great win for our Senior ladies in Co. League last Sunday morning when we overcame Corcha Dhuibhne on a score line of Austin Stacks 4-9 Corcha Dhuibhne 3-8. This completes our Co. League for 2014 a season which saw us win 2, lost 2 and drew 1. Lots of room for improvement but the team really progressed as the league went on and we can now look forward to Junior Championship action. All players will be notified of training times by text.
