Girls Academy – U6/8 & 10 Girls: we welcomed Legion to Connolly Park last Thursday evening for a most enjoyable night of challenge games. On Sunday morning we trained in Caherlsee and welcomed new recruit Sarah to the U10 team. Please note there will no training this Sunday due to the Munster Football final. See you all again next week.
U10 Girls – As part of the ‘Go Games’ we will play Kerins O’Rahillys in Ballyrickard this Wednesday evening. All girls are asked to be in Ballyrickard for 6pm please.
U12 Girls: Austin Stacks 2-7 Dr. Crokes 1-7. What a game! Trailing 1-2 to no score after 6 minutes our girls had to dig deep for this one. Half time score; Austin Stacks 1-3 to Dr. Crokes 1-6. Excitement was high when Roisin Coffey put over a beauty to bring the sides level with just 5 minutes of normal time left. This game was nip and tuck to the end with both sides missing chances to go ahead and it took the last kick of the game, a low bullet of a shot by Heather Mc Namara, to clinch this game for Stacks. Particular mention to our excellent defence who held a very good Dr. Crokes team to just 1 point (a free) in that 2nd half. Team: Kirby Ann Ryan, Leah Long, Alex Mc Namara, Yasmin Sultan, Rachel O’Donnell, Lara Flynn, Maria Lukco, Aoife Dillane (0-1), Grainne Carmody (0-01), Brenda Devane, Rebecca Conway, Roisin Coffey (0-01), Heather Mc Namara (2-1), Aisling O’Shea (0-03), Ciara Nix, Chloe Sugrue, Karima Sultan, Sara Lucid, Vivienne Dineen, Alison Lane, Megan O’Brien, Catherine Duggan & Chloe Fitzpatrick. We played Ballymac in our final Co. League game last Tuesday evening (1st July) – FT Austin Stacks 3-7 Ballymac 1-7
U13 Blitz: We have entered a team in the North Kerry U13 Girls Blitz which will take place on Saturday July 26th in John Mitchels GAA club grounds.
U16 Girls: Mixed fortunes for our U16 girls who played 2 Co. League games last week. On Monday evening we took on ‘table toppers’ Legion and were beaten well on the night, final score Austin Stacks 0-05 Legion 0-15. Then last Friday evening (27th June) we faced Inbhear Scéine Gaels (Kenmare) in Connolly Park where we were the comfortable winners on a scoreline of Austin Stacks 7-10 Inbhear Scéine Gaels 2-7. We are due to play away to Kilcummin this Thursday evening (July 3rd).
Senior Ladies – Austin Stacks 0-10 Causeway 3-5: Game 1 of the North Kerry League was played in Connolly Park last Sunday evening. Although the result could have been better there was one thing to celebrate as Laura Rogers (introduced in the 2nd half) made a welcome return to football duty. It was her first game in over 10 months, since picking up that severe cruciate injury. Great to see you back Laura! Our next game in this competition will be V Finuge/St. Senans on a game provisionally fixed for this Sunday evening.
