Girls Academy: We held our final session in Caherslee last Sunday morning. Well done to all the girls for their attendance and great attitude to our training sessions over the last few months. Thanks to all the parents for their assistance & co-operation but a special thank you to all our hardworking & selfless mentors – enjoy the ‘short’ break!
U13 Girls: Seven of our players joined with John Mitchells; Na Gaeil and Kerins O’Rahillys to make up the Tralee team for the U 13 North Kerry District Championship final which was played in very wet and windy conditions at the John Mitchells Complex last Friday evening against the West Kerry District. West Kerry came out victorious here. It was the first time the Tralee side had played together as they had got bye’s straight through to the final and if they had played more together, it may have been a different result.
U14 Girls Town League Final: On Saturday evening we played the final of the Town League v Na Gaeil again in very windy conditions. We played against a very strong wind in the first half and after points scored by Katie Nagle; Meabh McElligott Emma Reidy Rachel Ryan (2) and a lovely goal by Mollie O’Carroll, we went in at half time leading by one point with a score of 1-5 to 0-7.
The second half saw points from Sarah Hoare and Rachel Ryan scoring 2 more and a fab goal from Lucy O’Carroll but it wasn’t enough as Na Gaeil scored 2-3 leaving the score at the final whistle 2:8 to 2:10. Five minutes before the final whistle, Mollie O’Carroll got injured and suffered a fracture to her collar bone. We wish Mollie the best of luck and a speedy recovery. This brings our U14 football season to a close for this year. We wish the girls moving on to U16 the best of luck and we will see the rest of the U14’s back for more action in January.

Co. Final: Austin Stacks V Mid Kerry this Sunday in Austin Stack Park at 3pm. We are encouraging all members to pre-purchase their match tickets at Garvey’s Super Valu. U16s are free. As is the tradition of our club, Austin Stacks supporters will march to the game. All Rockies (young & old) are asked to gather in the club from 12 noon onwards. Supporters march to depart at 1.45pm – wear your club colours, bring your flags and voices for an unforgettable day.
