Girls Academy: The U10 girls were training at Connolly Park last Sunday. Drills, matches and fun were the order of the day. Training will be at Connolly Park again at 11am this Sunday 18th. Well done to all of you who attended the club summer camp. see photographs on www.austinstacks.ie
U12 Girls: Training will continue on Wednesdays from 5 to 6pm for the next few weeks as we prepare for the Town League which will commence in September.
U13 Girls Championship – Quarter Final: A very depleted Austin Stacks team suffered a heavy defeat to Na Gaeil last Friday evening going down 4-18 to 4-5.
U15 Girls Championship: We played Corcha Dhuibhne in Connolly park last Tuesday evening. Missing a few key players we were no match for the very talented team from the West. Final Score Austin Stacks 1-2 Corcha Dhuibhne 4-12. We send best wishes to our U16 star Catriona Horgan who underwent a cruciate ligament operation during the week.
Senior Ladies: Mary Jo Curran Cup: Stacks 6-10 Finuge/St. Sennans 7-4: a great result considering after a brace of goals
by Finuge we were down by 8 points at one stage. Our next game in this competition was at home to Inbhear Sceine Gaels at 7.30pm last Wednesday Aug 14th. Final Score: Austin Stacks 2-3 Inbhear Scéine Gaels 4-12. Our lack of fitness denying us a fighting chance in this game.
Strictly Come Dancing 2013: Festival Dome on Saturday Aug 24th. Please support this club fundraiser by purchasing a ticket – now on sale at Garveys Super Valu, Barry’s Shop, Greyhound Bar, Stacks Club bar or from any committee member. All monies raised will go towards improving the playing facilities at Connolly Park.
