Ladies Club Notes Tuesday August 6th, 2024.

Aoife: Pride of place this week goes to our club player Aoife Dillane who together with her Kerry team-mates captured the 2024 Senior AI Final last Sunday with a decisive win over Galway. The win bridges a gap of 31 years since Kerry last held the title. Aoife had a fantastic game chipping in with Kerry’s 1st goal just before half time. Her medal brings our club tally to 59 Senior AI Medals won by Stacks LGFA players over the years. We send huge congratulations to all the Kerry players and also to Darragh & Declan & all the management team.

Austin Stacks Summer Camp: is taking place this week in Connolly Park.  We hope all the boys & girls participating are having a great week.

Girls Magic Academy: Training for U6s & U10s will go ahead at 11am this Sunday in Caherslee.  Our U8s will be heading to Na Gaeil to participate in the Summer Go Games Series – so keep an eye on messages for confirmation and details.

U12:  We are looking forward to the Munster LGFA Blitz taking place this Saturday August 10th at John Mitchels Complex from 10.30-2.30pm.

U14:  Our North Kerry U14B game away V Beale did not go ahead last Friday evening and is now will rescheduled for Monday August 26th.  Training goes ahead 6.15-7pm this Wednesday Aug 7th.

U16:  U16’s County League Division 3 in Rd 4 we played away V Na Gaeil last Thursday Aug 1st. FT: Austin Stacks 6-13 2:04 Na Gaeil. It proved to be a Fantastic performance by the girls.  They brought their usual workrate and reaped the rewards. A brilliant team performance. Our shooting has been the most clinical it has been all season- converting 19 shots from 27(70%). We also won 80% of our kickouts. Win, lose or draw we are always very proud of the girls. Our Rd 5 match at home to Killarney Legion due to be played this Thursday Aug 8th is now postponed.  Pending other results but it looks likely that we may have secured a Semi Final spot in this year’s Co. League Div 3.

Minors: We have qualified for this year’s Co. League Div 5 Final. Our opposition will be Beale who defeated Annascaul/Castlegregory in the Semi final on a score line of 5-12 to 2-7.  We will train this Thursday evening from 7pm to 8pm.

Seniors:  Corrib Oil Senior Club League in Rd 3 we lost away to Kilcummin last Monday night (July 29th) FT Kilcummin 1-13 Stacks 0-8.  Team and Scorers:  Aisling Browne, Mary Moore, Lara Flynn, Karena Slattery, Eimear O’Sullivan, Grace Reidy, Roise O’Donnell, Norma O’Connor, Katie Nagle, Sarah Hoare, Deirdre Quigley, Kara Kirby (0-1), Megan O’Brien (0-5), Ciara Nix (0-1), Grace Lucid (0-1).  Subs used Grainne Carmody, Aoife O’Connell and Sophie Norris. The Div 4 play off sees us once again take on Kilcummin away on Mon Aug 12th
