U16 Girls: North Kerry Ladies U16 Div 2 League Rd 3: We were very proud of the U16’s Ladies Team last Tuesday night in what was a very difficult assignment against table toppers, Abbeydorney in our R3 Clash in Division 2 of the North Kerry League. The final score was 2:09 to 0:09. In a tough encounter, refereed very fairly by Sharon Roche, we got off to a very slow start in comparison to our long standing rivals at this grade, who scored a quick 1-3 to no score. We settled a bit and steadied at the back and scored a couple of points. The girls were disappointed with their own ball handling at half time but certainly redeemed themselves in the second half. They out scored Abbeydorney and won that half. Unfortunately, our accuracy in front of goal was poor. We missed at least 3 clear cut goal chances and also a few wides. Had we converted those chances, our tails would have been up. It was a great second half performance, and without naming names, we were delighted with how all the girls acquitted themselves and how their work rate and attitude totally changed in the second half. We have now qualified for the Div 2 Shield Final with home venue V KOR. Date TBC. Training on Mondays and Thursdays from 6pm to 7pm, with gym work on Saturdays from 11-12pm.
