Girls Academy: Our Girls are still packing in as much football as they can into 2023. Fifteen U6s headed to Churchill last Sunday morning to enjoy some Go Games while our U8s and U10s hosted Na Gaeil in Connolly Park. This Sunday 8th October concludes our Girls Academy activity for 2023 – keep on eye on messaging service for an update.

Collection from Bowling Buddies at 6pm. Our thanks to Cara Credit Union and Austin Stack’s LGFA for their financial support towards the cost of the outing.
Coaching: Our Gaelic4Teens club visit took place on Mon Oct 2nd in Connolly Park at 6:30pm. We were 1 of 21 clubs nationally that have had the opportunity to engage with this programme so it was an extremely valuable experience and thanks to all our club coaches for their participation.

U12 Girls: We participated in the Abbeydorney Blitz last Sunday October 1st and reached the Cup final V hosts Abbeydorney. Playing into a strong wind in the first half, we trailed 1-4 o 0-1 at half time. The coaches were confident that the girls were going to come back strong in the second half & so it transpired. From the off, Stacks tackled & harried & started pegging back the scores. Showing great determination & no shortage of skill, Stacks got it back to 0-4 to 1-5. Ruth then took off on a run and finished to the net with the help of both uprights to leave the bare minimum between the sides. Final score was 1-4 to 1-6. Down a number of players in the final game, the coaches could not be prouder of the battling spirit shown. Every girl ran their heart out & should be very proud of themselves. Well done to Abbeydorney on their win, and thanks for being great hosts as always. This Saturday October 7th Kerins O’Rahillys LGFA are running a Blitz and this will mark our final day of football for the 2023 season.

Austin Stacks Ladies Club Open Meeting: Thanks to the parents who attended our Club Open Meeting last Tuesday evening (Sept 26th) your attendance was very much appreciated and it was great to receive your feedback. Several parents advised that they were unable to attend due to a clash with a school meeting (held at short notice) therefore we are extending the invitation to attend a Club Committee Meeting again to anyone interested in getting involved with the Austin Stacks Ladies Club. This meeting will take place on Tuesday 24th October at the later time of 8.30pm (and will finish by 9.30pm). While we have a core group of very good club officers, we really need more involvement from the parents of academy and juvenile team players to improve our offering. Please do come along!
