Ladies Club Notes 28th April, 2025.

Girls Academy: Our U6, U8 and U10 girls once again trained in big numbers last Sunday morning. This week the action returns to Caherslee at 11am. New players are always welcome just come along any Sunday morning. As Go Games will be starting shortly we ask that all parents ensure that their daughters are registered for the 2025 season as only registered players can participate in games.

U12 Girls: Well done to our U12 girls on another excellent hardworking team performance in Ballyseedy last Friday evening. Thanks to John Mitchels and referee Evelyn for a very enjoyable game. Training continues every Wednesday & Friday evening in Connolly Park at 6.15pm nightly.

U14 Girls: The U14 County League Division 1 continued last Sunday evening with the Stacks U14 Girls travelling to Listowel to take on Listowel Emmet’s. Our girls delivered a brilliant performance, edging out a thrilling one-point win. Every player contributed to the victory, with standout efforts right across the field — from Ariana in goals, through the backs and midfield, and up to the forwards. It was a true team effort and a win to remember. Congratulations to this great Rockie team who was captained tonight by Shauna Quigley (0-1), Ariana Sucaci, Eimear Kenny, Roisin Sheehy, Ciara Cronin, Eve Mc Evoy, Sophie Ferriter, Kate O Shea, Mary Gibbons, Sophie Pigott (0-1), Amelie O Sullivan (1-2), Ruth Dowling (1-1), Clodagh Kennedy(1-0), Mya Dennehy(1-3), Annabel Slattery, Emma Hobbert, Ellie Gorman. Coaches are extremely proud of every player and thanks to parents for their continued support. Thanks also to the Referee and to Listowel Emmets for a very sporting game (report by Martina Dowling). In Rd. 3 we will have a home game V Laune Rangers on May 18th. Our U14B team was due to kick off their Co. League action with a home game V Annascaul/Castlegregory at 7pm on Monday April 28th (result too late for inclusion in these notes please check club socials for update).

U16 Girls: North Kerry U16 League Rd 2: FT Austin Stacks 2-17 KOR 4-5. What an incredible performance by our girls last Wednesday evening. They were outstanding. Every player, from 1 to 18, gave it everything. The work rate, the fight for every ball, and the brilliant link-up play across the pitch was exceptional. Our next match is against Abbeydorney on Tuesday April 29th. Training on Mondays and Thursdays from 6pm to 7pm, with gym work on Saturdays from 11-12pm.

Senior Ladies: Cara Credit Union Donal Curtin Cup FT

Austin Stacks 6-8 (26) Annascaul/C”gregory 5-9 (24). On a perfect morning for football our young side recorded their first win of the season following a very competitive & entertaining game. The sides were level 3-4 apiece at HT with our 3 goals coming from Aoife Begley, Megan O Brien & Kara Kirby. Stacks looked to have won this game as full time approached but a goal from the visitors saw them take a one point lead into the final minute of the game. It looked like an agonising one point defeat was on the cards but in the very last play of the match, a break out of defence fell to today’s top scorer, Megan O Brien. Megan took on the shot which thankfully hit the roof of the net to guarantee the win! which was no less than the girls deserved. Well done girls ye are a credit to yourselves and Austin Stacks. Sincere thanks to Aoife Dillane who managed the team today. This team is still without a coach so if anyone fancies the opportunity to get involved with this fantastic group of girls please do get in contact with us. We have 2 remaining games in this competition V Spa Killarney (Fri May 2nd at 7.30pm in Connolly Park) & V Finuge St Senans. G4MNO: We were delighted to make the journey for a game against the Cordal G4MNO team last Tuesday evening and really enjoyed the evening. Thanks to Cordal for their wonderful hospitality. Austin Stacks G4MNO train every Monday evening at 7pm in Connolly Park. New players are very welcome just come along any evening.

Kerry: * The Munster Minor Championship Final will see Kerry V Cork this Saturday May 3rd in Mallow, we send our best wishes to club player Lucy O’Connor and her Kerry teammates. * The All Ireland U14 Championship series Stage 1 gets underway this Saturday May 3rd. Best of luck to Kerry U14s including Austin Stacks Ruth Dowling & Amelie O’Sullivan who will be in action in Rathleague, Co. Laois with games against Offaly and Roscommon. * Stacks Aoife Dillane and her Kerry team mates got off to a winning start in their Munster Senior Championship campaign with an excellent win over Cork last Saturday. In Rd 2 they will be at home to Tipperary at 2pm on May 11th. In RD 2 of the Munster Senior B Championship, Kerry, including club players Chloe Fitzpatrick and Clodagh Murray, will be away to Limerick this Sunday May 4th.
