Girls Magic Football Academy: Our U8s travelled to Milltown last Saturday morning to participate in the Co Summer Go Games Series hosted by Milltown Castlemaine on this occasion. We had games V Laune Rangers & the home side, Milltown/Castlemaine. There was no rest for these Football Mad Ladies who trained again in Connolly Park last Sunday morning.
Our U10s played some Go Games against John Mitchells in Connolly Park last Sunday morning. It’s great to see the continued improvement and enjoyment by the U10s every week. Also a big shout to all those that helped out refereeing, coaching, organising and setting up the pitches. It’s great to see so much involvement by everyone associated with the group. Training goes ahead for all ages groups 6/8/10s this Sunday at 11am followed by the Austin Stacks Family Fun Day straight after training.
Date with the AI Champions: The Kerry Senior Ladies will attend the juvenile academies boys and girls on Sunday 22nd September in Connolly Park.
U12 Girls: On Tues last (Aug 20th) we enjoyed 2 more great games at home to Finuge St Senans. Training continues this Friday evening ahead of next week’s round 3 games away V Fossa scheduled for Tuesday Aug 27th
U13: The Munster U13 PDP Blitz was held in Banteer last Saturday. A very enjoyable day as our girls – Clodagh Kennedy, Eabha May Horgan, Eabha Maguire. Amelie O Sullivan, Eimear Kenny, Roisin Sheehy, Ruth Dowling & Eve McEvoy – lined out in the green and gold of Kerry. They played against East Cork, Tipperary and West Cork. Well done girls.
U14 Girls: North Kerry League is now underway. Our A team kicked off their Div 3 campaign last Thursday evening (Aug 22nd) V Currow – report by Cian O’Sullivan – Congratulations to Our U14 A team on a hard fought 1 point victory in the North Kerry League tonight in Connolly Park. Captained by Goalkeeper Ariana Sucaci who was excellent in goals all evening making some top class saves in both halves. A special mention for Lauren Lawlor who dropped into the centre back position and did a fantastic job in what was a really tight game. It was also brilliant to see players coming off the bench and making a huge impact particularly Eimear Kenny and Clodagh Kennedy who scored vital goals with the game in the balance coming into the last few minutes. Both teams can be very proud of a great performance and very entertaining match given the terrible weather conditions. Final Score Austin Stack 7-3 Currow 6-5. In Rd 2 we are away to Shannonside/Tarbert this Wed Aug 28th at 7pm in Tarbert.
Our B teams match V Beale in the North Kerry League away was due to be played on Monday August 26th was postponed until a future date.

Senior Ladies: Bon Secour Hospital Tralee Intermediate Co. Championship Rd 1 FT Austin Stacks 2-7 (13) Beaufort 1-15 (18).
Played in blustery conditions in Connolly Park on Monday August 19th, Beaufort hit the ground running with their Kerry star Hannah O’Donoghue scoring 5 unanswered points within the first 6 minutes. Saoirse Dorrian, goaled for Beaufort before Stacks, Saoirse Moriarty, converted a free in the 13th minute for Stacks first score of the game. Hannah O’Donoghue, stroked another free over to extend the visitors lead. Stacks and Kerry Minor, Lucy O’Connor, scored a very good individual point from play but it was Beaufort who finished the half strongly with 2 further points from play by their excellent no. 14 Lori O’Connor to leave the HT Score Stacks 0-2 Beaufort 1-8.
Indeed, Beaufort would have been further ahead but for the heroics of Austin Stacks brilliant goalkeeper, Chloe Fitzpatrick, who had brought off 3 point blank saves in the first half. Chloe was called into action again right at the start of the 2nd half and once again got down low to make another fine save. Lori O’Connor, was once again on target with a point from play. Saoirse Moriarty converted 2 well struck frees for the home side before Lori pointed again from play. Beaufort had 2 further goal chances expertly saved by Stacks Goalie Chloe who has brought her goal keeping skills to a whole new level this year. Then in the 9th minute of the 2nd half Holly O’Brien, with her never say die attitude, got through for a Stacks goal. Just 2 minutes later Megan O’Brien’s high floating ball into the square deceived the Beaufort keeper and Stacks were right back in the game. Lori O’Connor and Megan O’Brien exchanged points. Once again Lori was on target with a point from play before Lucy O’Connor chipped in with her second point from play after another great run. With 4 minutes remaining on the clock just 3 points separated the sides but Beaufort held their nerve and finished the game out strongly with 3 points from play by Fay O’Donoghue, Keeva Riordan and their top scorer Lori O’Connor while Saoirse Moriarty who was unerring in her free taking converted her 4th free of the evening before referee Mike Hennessey blew the final whistle.

A cracker in Clounmacon saw our Senior Ladies fresh from their trip to Sheffield put in a fantastic performance to win on a score line of Clounmacon/Moyvane 2-10 Austin Stacks 3-12. Well done Girls. Sheffield Sevens: 12 of our Senior Ladies – Chloe Fitzpatrick, Eimear O’Sullivan, Katie Nagle, Ciara Nix, Norma O’Connor, Lara Flynn, Karena Slattery, Megan O’Brien, Saoirese Moriarty, Roise O’Donnell, Mary Moore and Grace Reidy – competed in the St. Vincents GAA Club, Sheffield 7’s Mens & Ladies tournament last weekend. Congratulations to the girls who won the overall Ladies Cup competition defeating Cardiff in the final. A fantastic weekend was enjoyed by the girls who once again wish to thank everyone who contributed to their Go Fund Me Page and made the trip possible.
