Ladies Club Notes 24th August, 2026.

Girls Academy: Our U8s and U10s next training is at 6pm this Wednesday as we prepare to head to the Passage West Blitz Cork on Sat Sept 5th. The next games in the U10 Go Games Series takes place this Monday Aug 24th at 6.30pm at Moyvane GAA Club.

U12 Girls: We played a challenge game V KOR last Wednesday evening . We are also looking forward to our End of Season trip to the Passage West Blitz – promises to be a great fun day out. Reminder to please forward fee to cover bus transport.

U13 Girls: Congratulations to the ten Stacks players who represented Tralee/ West Kerry last Saturday in the U13 PDP blitz with Limerick in Adare – Tara Silva, Rose Ahern, Aisling Trant, Jemimah Foster, Macy Reidy, Niamh Bolger, Emily Savage, Ailbhe Sheehy, Kate Kirby and Caoimhe Madden. Note the Sandra Keane Tournament takes place on Saturday Sept 12th at John Mitchels GAA grounds.

U14 Girls: Austin Stacks U14 girls got their Terry’s Butchers North Kerry Div 1 League campaign off to a winning start this evening with a strong team performance away to neighbours Churchill. Captained on the night by Ria Hogan Byrne, the Stacks girls started brightly. Both sides showed plenty of commitment and determination throughout the opening half. Scores proved difficult to come by in the early stages, but Austin Stacks went into the break with a lead.
Half-time: Churchill 0-2, Austin Stacks 1-4. The Stacks girls raised their game further after the restart, playing some excellent team football. Their positive approach was rewarded with a number of well-taken scores as they stretched their advantage. To their credit, Churchill enjoyed a purple patch during the second half and put the Stacks defence under pressure. However, the Austin Stacks girls showed great composure and determination when it mattered most. They settled any nerves, regained control of the game, and finished strongly to secure a hard-earned victory. Full-time: Churchill 2-4, Austin Stacks 4-10. Thanks to referee Mike Hennessy for officiating and Churchill LGFA for a fine sporting game played in an excellent spirit. (Thanks to Mike Dennehy for his match report).

U16 Girls: Despite going down to Legion in RD 5 last Tuesday evening (see match report on our Club Facebook page) – we have qualified for a Semi Final Spot V Killarney Legion will will take place this Wednesday evening Aug 26th at 7pm. Best of luck.

Minors: We wish to acknowledge and thank Siobhan and all Power Travel for their generous sponsorship of our upcoming Helen Dowling Memorial U18 Girls Football Blitz taking place on Saturday October 10th.

Senior Ladies: Bon Secour Senior Ladies Intermediate Co Championship Rd2: Austin Stacks 3-12 Firies 3-11. We were treated to a cracking Championship game in Connolly Park last Sunday afternoon, a game which in the end went right down to the wire. The sides went in level at HT (1-5 apiece) our goal coming from Megan O Brien. Seven minutes into the second half, Firies had extended their lead to 3-6 (15) to 1-8 (11) and looked to be comfortable but credit this Stacks side who held their composure and within minutes had bounced back with an excellent goal taken by Mollie O Carroll. The decisive score came in the 50th minute when Mollie O Carroll’s shot deflected into the Firies net, for her second goal of the game, to put Stacks into a 2 point lead (3-10 to 3-8). Stacks Lucy O Connor and Amelie O Sullivan (scoring her first senior Championship point) kept the score board ticking over for Stacks while our defence stood resolute in the closing minutes to deny Firies any goal chance. G4MO: Training in Connolly Park every Monday & now Wednesday night from 7pm to 8pm. Everyone is welcome, especially new members. Urging Ladies age 25 + to come along & try it out, no experience or fitness ability needed. Thanks to everyone who contributed to our bucket collection held at Garvey’s Super Valu last Saturday in aid of Palliative Care and thanks to Garvey’s Super Valu for facilitating.

Stacks LGFA Autumn 2026 Fundraising Clothing Collection – Start ‘gathering’ we will hold a clothing collection on Saturday November 7th in the club rooms Connolly Park from 11am to 1pm.
