Welcome Home to Aoife & Darragh: Austin Stacks Juvenile Academy turned out in force to welcome home their All Ireland heroes Aoife Dillane & Darragh Long last Sunday morning. Presentations to both Darragh & Aoife on behalf of Austin Stacks LGFA were made by our Chairperson Melissa and so after a short address and thanks from both our special guests, a very gracious Aoife was on hand to award each & every U6, U8 & U10 girl with her end of year medal, pose for photos & sign autographs as requested. It made for a very special occasion for all our young girls. Also thanks to our U12/14 players & parents who also hosted a fundraising cake sale on the morning which was superbly supported by both our boys & girls academies. Finally sincere thanks to John Breen for all his help in setting us up for the bake sale. It was very much appreciated.

U13 Girls Co Championship Division 1 SF: FT Listowel Emmets 1-9 Austin Stacks 1-6;Our U13 girls travelled to Listowel Emmets GAA grounds to play their semi-final of the Under 13, Division 1, Club Championship match against Emmets. Although the girls fought bravely in a very tight, hard and fast game, it wasn’t to be their evening. Stacks played well and finished with a two point lead at half-time (AS 1-4 to Emmets 0-5.) With Emmets dominating the second half, the Stacks girls showed great resilience against this strong side, putting their heart and soul into every play of the game and contributing to an excellent team performance. The full-time score – AS 1-6 v Emmets 1-9. The team tonight was: Arina Sucaci, Eabha-May Horgan, Eve Mc Evoy, Ciara Cronin, Kate O Shea, Maria O Connell, Shauna Quigley (Captain), Roisin Sheehy, Mary Gibbons, Eabha Maguire, Ruth Dowling (1-2), Clodagh Kennedy, Mya Dennehy (0-1), Ciara Trant (0-3), Sophie Pigott, Eimear Kenny, Sophie Ferriter, Kate Murphy, Annabel Slattery. The girls played out an epic battle and although disappointed should know that the coaches, families and supporters are very proud of them and their achievement in getting this far in the competition. Thanks to the Referee, Listowel Emmets GAA and to the U13 Emmets team for a great sporting game and we wish them the best of luck in the Club Championship Final. (Report thanks to Martina).
