Ladies Club News 9th September, 2025.

Fundraising Bake Sale: Our U12/14 girls will be holding a fundraising Bake sale in Connolly Park from 11-12:30pm this Sunday morning with proceeds in aid of the teams “Training with the Stars” Event in Kenmare in association with St Francis Special School, Beaufort on October 4th. Baking donations can be dropped into the clubhouse after 5pm on Saturday or to the club from 10am on Sunday morning. Your support will be greatly appreciated.

Girls Academy: Well done to our U8 girls, who hosted Laune Rangers, Na Gaeil and Firies last Sunday morning. A great turnout and super football being played. Particular thanks to coach Brian who organized the blitz. Our U10s will play a Go Game away V St. Pats this Wednesday evening and will welcome Firies and Ballymac to Connolly Park this Sunday morning at 11am. Updates for this weekend’s U6, U8 Girls academy football training will be posted in your team What’s App groups.

U12 Girls: Upcoming events: Fundraising Bake Sale this Sun Sept 14th, Donal Sheehan U12 Blitz in Abbeydorney Sun Sept 21st and Sat Oct 4th – End of year trip to Star Outdoors & Training with the Stars Kenmare in aid of St. Francis Special School Beaufort.

U13 Girls:

Our U13 girls topped their group – (overcoming Finuge/St. Senans and Dinlge) to qualify for the Cup Semi Final in last Saturday’s Sandra Keane Invitational Tournament. The girls battled right to the end but ultimately were beaten by eventual winners Cup winner Annascaul/ Castlegregory. We are v proud of them, they were excellent representatives of the club and a credit to their families.

U14 Girls:

Annascaul/Castlegregory vs Austin Stacks

Final Score: 6-8 to 6-8

After nearly three months without competitive action, the Austin Stacks U14 girls returned to the field with a thrilling draw against Annascaul/Castlegregory in windy conditions away in Annascaul.

With the wind at their backs in the first half, the Stacks girls showed early dominance, pushing ahead with strong midfield and forward play. The backs marked tightly, and the team took a narrow lead into halftime: 5-4 to 4-3.

Facing into the wind in the second half, the girls knew they’d have to dig deep. They struck first after the break, but Annascaul/Castlegregory responded well, eventually taking the lead. In a tense finish, the Stacks girls showed great composure to level the game.

Both sides had chances to win, but a draw was a fair result in a fiercely competitive match.

Huge credit to both teams for a fantastic game, and thanks to the Annascaul/Castlegregory team and management and the referee for their part in a great evening of football.

U15 Girls: We were beaten by Churchill last Sunday evening in this year’s U15 Co Championship so will now play in the Shield Competition V KOR this weekend. Fixture TBC

U16/Minor Girls: Unfortunately North Kerry Board now inform us that a Minor league will not go ahead this year. Similarly there will be no U16 Town League also. So the season has come to a close. 2025 was a great year with lots of good football played between the 16s and minors. Sincere thanks to Keith, Niall and Evelyn for their dedication to this group of players throughout the year. Thanks to the parents for their support during the year and for to the girls for their dedication. An end of season day out is being planned!

Senior Ladies: Bon Secour Intermediate Championship Rd 3 FT Austin Stacks 2-4 MKL 5-15. Played in very heavy underfoot conditions the district side of MKL Gaels (Milltown Keel Listry) made light work of this contest and had amassed a very comfortable lead going into the 2nd half of 3-8 to Stacks 1-1. Stacks didn’t drop the heads however and while never threatening the result played some good football in a second half which saw them awarded 3 penalties (converted to 1-1). MKL Gaels were always in control of this one, their fitness and shooting accuracy evident throughout. They march on to the knockout stages carrying a justifiable favourites tag.

Today’s game marked the end of the season for our senior ladies team. Thanks to all the girls who played with us this year, special thanks to senior players Megan, Norma and Katie who tirelessly to ensure we had a team out for every fixture. To our S&C coach Aoife Newell who joined us mid-season and added so much to the group, to Anthony and Linda for their coaching contributions and finally to Jemma who took care of all fixtures and logistics. The 2025 TG4 All-Star banquet will take place at Bonnington Hotel Dublin on Saturday November 15th.

G4MNO:

Last Saturday our G4MO team headed to Dublin to participate in the Sports Direct G4MNO National Festival Day. Great reports back from the day (and night). There’ll be no stopping them now! Note our Weekly training continues every Monday evening from 7-8pm. New players are very welcome just come along any evening.
