Ladies Club News 2nd April, 2024.

Austin Stacks Girls Magic Football Academy – U6, U8 and U10s.  There will be football as usual this Sunday for our U6s at 11am and for our U8s at 12pm – both indoors in Balloonagh NS Hall. Our U10s will train at 11.15am at CBS NS Clounalour astro turf.  New players very welcome in all ages just pop along this Sunday.  Wear runners, bring a bottle and water and €2 to cover hall & pitch hire.

U12 Girls:  Our Go Games League is due to commence on Tuesday April 9th.  We will have 2 U12 teams Black & Amber – Our group consists of John Mitchels, KOR and Na Gaeil.  Team Sizes – Min 8v8, max 13v13, unlimited Subs.  Two Touches of Ball Permitted, Hop & Solo or Solo & Solo.  5 Goal Rule ,  4 Quarters – 12 and a half mins per Quarter, eg 25mins per half.  Finals – 1v2,  3v4.  No Cups or Trophies to be presented as per Go Games Policy.  Thanks to everyone who has paid their club membership for the 2024 season.

U14 Girls:  We will hold a team meeting at 7.30-8.15pm this Tuesday April 2nd in the Stacks Clubhouse.  This Friday April 5th we hope to play a challenge game V Castlegregory at 5.30pm.  Please keep an eye on the Team WhatsApp group for updates.  2023 Club Membership expired on March 31st.  Please ensure your daughter’s 2024 membership has been paid before our next match. U16 Girls: We played a useful challenge game V John Mitchels last Monday night.  NK Div 2 fixtures are as follows:  home V KOR April 8th, home V Listowel on April 15th, away V Na Gaeil on April 29th.  2023 Club Membership expired on March 31st.  Please ensure your daughter’s 2024 membership has been paid before our next training.  Payment can be made online via www.foireann.ie  Well done to club players Eimear and Kara who were both part of the Kerry teams which defeated Clare last Saturday in Rd 5 of the Munster Championship.

Minor Ladies:  Austin Stacks will play in Div 5 along with Churchill, Kilcummin/Currow, Beale and Annascaul/C’gregory.  Games commencing on April 9th away V Beale, bye April 16th, April 30th home V Annascaul/C’gregory, May 7th home V Churchill and May 14th away V Kilcummin/C’gregory.  Training at 7.30pm this Wednesday April 3rd.

Senior Ladies: We commenced our Credit Union Donal Curtin Cup campaign and indeed our season with an away game V Laune Rangers last Friday evening March 29th and came home with a well earned 3 point win.  FT Laune Rangers 4-10 Austin Stacks 6-7.  Team:  Grainne Carmody, Maeve Mc Kivergan, Sophie Norris, Clodagh Murray, Chloe Fitzpatrick, Lucy O Donnell, Grace Lucid, Norma O Connor, Megan O Brien, Holly O Brien, Mary Moore, Saoirse Moriarty, Ciara Nix and Roise O’Donnell. Rd 2 is scheduled for a home game V Firies on Sunday April 14th. Match details TBC

Gaelic 4 Mothers And Others: Austin Stacks LGFA has registered a Gaelic 4 mothers and others team for 2024. This initiative is an innovative way to introduce mothers and other women to playing Ladies Gaelic Football.  We have had a lot of interest to date and are just waiting for the pitches in Connolly Park to re-open so we can get underway, so if it sounds like your ‘thing’ contact contact Melissa on (087) 792 5605

Kerry:  Best Wishes to the Kerry Senior Ladies including our own Aoife Dillane and Darragh Long in the National League Div 1 final  V Armagh this Sunday April 7th at 3pm in Croke Park.  This will be a double header with the Div 2 final Kildare V Tyrone at 1pm.
