Club Shop Launch: We are excited to announce that Austin Stacks LGFA will launch a brand new line of unisex Club Clothing in association with MFC sports this Thursday May 30th. Thanks to Joe O’Connor and Terry (Terrys Butchers Shop) for all their support in designing the new club range which includes, training tops, jackets, leggings, shorts and club jerseys which will also be available to purchase at some special Bundle Price Deals! Girls Magic Academy: There was plenty of action in Connolly Park last Sunday morning as our U8s and U10s welcomed Na Gaeil for some fun challenge games. Well done to both teams and thanks to everyone who helped out. Football Training for our U6, U8 and U10s returns to Caherlsee at 11am this Sunday.
Save the Date: Our U8 and U10 girls will participate in this year’s Munster LGFA U8 & U10s Festival Day taking place in Tralee this year (hosted by KOR) on Saturday July 13th.
Club Summer Camp: The dates for the Austin Stacks Club Summer Camp have been announced. The camp for both boys and girls will take place in Connolly Park from Tuesday August 6th to Saturday August 10th from 9.30am to 1pm daily.
U12 Girls: A busy week for our U12 girls with both teams making the trip to Churchill as part of the North Kerry Go Games League last Tuesday evening. Team Black were in action again last Thursday evening in an exciting and absorbing encounter with Na Gaeil in Killeen. We enjoyed a fun mini blitz at John Mitchels last Sunday morning, along with Abbeydorney and Na Gaeil. Thanks to Thomas and everyone at John Mitchels for a very enjoyable afternoon. Training this week is on Tuesday and Friday evenings. Ahead of our Co. League commencing in Mid June , we have a few challenge games lined up on Tuesday June 4th V Abbeydorney and on Tuesday June 11th V Castleisland. North Kerry League finals for all girls will be arranged in the coming weeks.
U14 Girls:
Our U14A team will play the final round of Co League Div 4 at home to Fossa at 5pm this Sunday June 2nd. Our U14B team suffered a defeat to KOR in Co. League Div 8 last Sunday evening We now have 2 rounds left to play V Beale and ISG Kenmare. Our game V Beale is confirmed for Monday June 3rd at 6pm in Asdee.
U16: All rounds of the North Kerry League have now been played. We have qualified for this year’s Shield Final and are set to play Na Gaeil. Match details TBC. This Year we will play in Co. League Div 3 along with Na Gaeil, Legion, Beaufort, Laune Rangers and Annascaul/C’gregory. The Co League is set to commence on June 27th.
Minor Ladies: Minor Co League Div 5: A lovely win by our Stacks Minors at home in Connolly Park last Tuesday evening, in a tough physical contest against Annascaul / Castlegregory, in the fourth & final round of the County League, where both teams went into the match unbeaten. The final score line of Austin Stacks 5-9 to Annascaul/Castlegregory 0-8 belied what was actually a closer contact, but goals win games and we took our chances well, with all of our usual suspects scoring. The work rate by our girls was second to none and nobody from 1 to 16 could have given any more. A special mention for our Keeper tonight, Aisling Browne, who made a fine save from a Annascaul/Castle penalty in the first half, which gave our girls a huge boost to keep working hard. Well done girls. Details of a semi final berth at home to follow in June, after the exams. Training details for those not sitting exams will be texted. Senior Ladies: We suffered a defeat to Annascaul/Castlegregory last Sunday morning in our backgame in the Cara Credit Union Donal Curtin Cup. We are due to play Killarney Legion at home in the final round of this competition – match details TBC
Gaelic4MothersnOthers: We train every Monday night @7pm in Connolly Park. We are encouraging new players to sign up, no judgements, it’s all about the craic, no football experience necessary.
