Ladies Club News 26th June, 2024.

Thank You: Terry & Anne Marie Healy of Terrys Butchers Shop, Oakpark, Tralee Proud Main Sponsors of Austin Stacks LGFA were on hand after our Senior/Minor training last Monday evening to present a brand new Jersey Set for our Senior Ladies Team. The MFC Sports jersey set received a 5 Star rating from the girls who loved the fit and lightweight fabric. We cannot express our gratitude enough to Terrys Butchers Shop who have supported our Ladies Club as a main sponsor for the best part of a decade. Club Summer Camp: The dates for the Austin Stacks Club Summer Camp for both boys and girls will take place in Connolly Park from Tuesday August 6th to Saturday August 10th from 9.30am to 1pm daily.

Austin Stacks Girls Magic Football Academy:  Our U6, U8 and U10 Girls hosted Castleisland Desmonds for some fun Challenge Games last Sunday morning. It was a fantastic morning and all of our Adrienne’s photos can be viewed on the Austin Stacks Ladies Club Facebook page.  Well done to all our U10 girls who travelled to Miltown for 2 great games last Tuesday night as part of the Kerry Ladies Gaelic Football Summer Go Games Series. It was great to be able to field 2 teams which meant everyone got to play a full game. This Sunday training returns for all ages to Connolly Park at 11am but U8s please note Churchill are up next to host the Kerry LGFA U8 Summer Go Games Series which may be this Sunday but we await confirmation and will keep you posted.

 

U12 Girls: We were away to Rathmore last Thursday evening (June 19th) in Rd 1 of the County League. Upcoming games: Home V Churchill this Tuesday June 25th at 6.30pm and July 9th away V Cromane. Dates for your diaries: – 21st July: U12 County Blitz in Kerry GAA Centre of Excellence, Currans and 10th August; U12 Munster Blitz at John Mitchels GAA Complex. 

U14:  Training takes place in Connolly Park on Wednesday 26th June 6:15-7:30 pm. Our County Final Austin Stacks A v Fossa is fixed for Monday 8th July. Venue and time to be confirmed the week before the game. The North Kerry League is due to start for both teams at the end of August. Over the summer U-13/U-15 Player Development Programme will take place over 6 Saturdays. This will be open to all players who want to take part and will culminate in a county style blitz on the 7th week. More details to follow over the coming week.

U16:  We will play in Div 4 Co League:  Na Gaeil, Killarney Legion,  Beaufort, Glenflesk, Austin Stacks & KOR.  The Co League is set to commence on July 18th. We have qualified for this year’s North Kerry Shield Final and are set to play Na Gaeil.   Match details TBC.  We send our best wishes to Club Players Eimear Dillane and Kara Kirby and our own Megan O Brien (Selector) who are part of the Kerry U16 team who take on Mayo in the All Ireland Championship Semi Final this Thursday June 27th at 7.30pm in Rathkeale.
Minor Ladies:  Minor Co League Div 5: We have qualified for this year’s  Semi Final which will be a home game V Kilcummin/Currow possibly on Friday July 5th.
Senior Ladies: Austin Stacks Senior Ladies are travelling to Sheffield, UK on the 24th of August to compete in the St. Vincent’s GAA Club 7’s Mens & Ladies tournament. This will be a huge occasion for our young team and there is great excitement surrounding the trip. The cost of the trip including flights, transfers, accommodation, meals & tournament fees are all being financed by the players themselves. This is a fantastic group of girls who are never found wanting when asked to help out with club events or participate in club activities. Details of the Senior Co League have been announced; we will play in Div 3 along with Abbeydorney, Laune Rangers & Kilcummin. Games set to begin July 15th.
Gaelic4MothersnOthers:   We train every Monday night @7pm in Connolly Park. We are encouraging new players to sign up, no judgements, it’s all about the craic, no football experience necessary.
