Ladies Senior Football – Co. League Div 3 1st Round
Austin Stacks 7-15 Milltown/Listry 1-3
Our Senior Girls got off to a great start in the 1st Round of the Co. League with a comprehensive win over Milltown/Listry played in perfect conditions at Connolly Park on Sunday last.
After a slow start as well as a few missed scoring opportunities Stacks Girls got into their stride with a superb goal from the diminutive Shannon. The first half saw great scoring from Laura 2-2, Marina 1-1, followed by Shannon scoring her second goal as well as Rena, Ciara, Megan & Breda all scoring a point each.
Half time score Stacks 5-7 to Milltown/Listry 0-2.
The second half started with a super point from Breda followed by Shannon’s 3rd Goal, Great scoring followed from Marina 2-2 Laura 0-4 Breda 0-1 & Rena 0-1.
All our players showed great determination and were guided superbly by their trainer Shane on the side line as well as great help from Dell, Bernie & Niamh.
The game ended Austin Stacks 7-15 to Milltown/Listry 1-3 – A super day for the Girls. The spark is back in the Rock Ladies!
