Nine Austin Stack Club boys were involved: Harry Maguire, Oran O’Regan, Michael Carmody, Billy Kirby, Shane Carey, Wayne Moyo , Darragh Moriarty, Matthew Murphy and Blake Bowler. STAIR:
The Rock is the only club in Kerry to have won senior county championships in both hurling and football; our club won ‘the double’ in 1928 and again 1931. The club has won 13 senior football championships (5 wins up to 1936, 37 barren years and 8 wins from 1973) and 4 senior hurling championships (1928, 1929, 1931, 1932). Austin Stack didn’t play for The Rock.
CONGRATS:
It’s nice to see an Amsterdam hurling team in a Leinster junior final! Could The Rock field a junior hurling team? ‘Well done’ also to our Ballymac neighbours on their reaching a Munster final (junior football). Agus go n-éirí le peileadóirí Chorca Dhuibhne ina gcluiche i gCúige Mumhan (sinsir agus idirmheánach)!
