(ii) Our Thursday football sessions, however, have ended for this season. (Brian Ó Donnchú)
CAID FAOI 7/8:
(i) Thursday football sessions have ceased for this season but we hope to have another great session at 10.50am on Sunday next in CAHERSLEE. Sunday morning football is always great fun! (Eoin Ó hÉigeartaigh; Brian Ó Donnchú)
PEIL FAOI 9/10:
(i) Our U9 boys had a great trip to Club Naomh Fionnbarra in Cork on Saturday last (4th); they had a brilliant day’s football and distinguished themselves in the U9 Canty Cup Tournament. They even reached the final but they were so so unlucky to lose by one small single solitary point! However, they’ll have lovely memories of an enjoyable outing go Corcaigh cois Laoi; agus beidh lá eile ag an bPaorach!
(ii) The Rock U10 Garry Fernane Cup and John Galvin Cup football competitions are continuing this coming Sunday morning when, once again, four 8-aside teams play in CAHERSLEE at 10.50am. Peil ar ardchaighdeán gan stad gan staonadh a bheidh ann…gan dabht! Another great crowd of club football stars expected with Moms or Dads in full support! This league format will be continued at each session until end-of-season Sunday (26th October). A Thiarcais, tá an tSamhain isteach an doras chugainn!
(iii) ‘And, sadly, as the evenings close in, we’ll have no further midweek training sessions….ochón ó!’ arsa Colm Ó Mongáin.
PEIL FAOI 11/12:
Thanks once again to all our U12 footballers and mentors who have worked so hard throughout the season. Meantóirí: Cóilín Ó Tíocháin, Ciarán Ó Murchú, Fionnbarra Ó Ceantaí, Caoimhín Ó Cuanacháin, TS Ó hÓgáin agus Tadhg Mac Mathúna.
PEIL FAOI U16:
(i) The first round of the U16 Bordcheantair Thrá Lí agus Naomh Breandán championship took place last weekend. We faced Churchill on Saturday 27th.
23 boys were on the panel for this game. All players got game time and each man played his part in a solid Rock victory. Scór deiridh…Churchill: 3-6; AdeS: 5-14. Well done, boys! Bua deas! A nice victory! Following on from that fine win out in Churchill, which wasn’t a flash in the pan, we were able to back it up with another fine performance and a deserved victory against Kilcummin in a challenge match on Sunday last (5th). Considering that we were missing a few key players and had lost another player to injury early in the game we were very encouraged by our boys’ team performance on this outing. Players dug deep to hold off a strong Kilcummin team that currently awaits a semi-final in Division 1 of the County League. We still await details of our own semi-final in Division 2 but team and mentors will continue to quietly work away in preparation for that encounter. Next Sunday (12th) we’ll face our Cillín neighbours, Na Gaeil, in the Bordcheantair Thrá Lí agus Naomh Breandán semi-final. The game will take place on our home sod in Connolly Park at 11am. A great game is expected. Please come out and support the team.
(ii) And, on top of all that, we’ve to prepare diligently for the County League (Division 2) semi-final which we’ll play towards the end of October. ‘So, young men of The Rock, keep an eye out for group messages and for the AdeS social media posts!’ says Ger Hobbert.
PEIL na gCOLÁISTÍ FAOI 19:
The Green CBS won their quarter final of the U19 Colleges Football Competition (Corn Uí Shúilleabháin), a competition that is organised by Coiste Iarbhunscoileanna Chiarraí. Imríodh an cluiche i gCathair Sailí in wet and overcast conditions and our club had 4 players in the starting Green 15: Olivier Lata (1), Eoin Mangan (2), Fionnán Ryan (5) and Ronan Carroll (11). They defeated Listowel’s Coláiste Naomh Mícheál….3-18 to 1-9. The Tralee side led by 0-8 (1-11 to 0-6) at half-time. Tralee CBS take on old rivals, Mercy Mounthawk who defeated Presentation Milltown (3-13 to 1-17) in the semi-final. St. Brendans, Killarney, and Killorglin’s Intermediate School face each other this week, in the other semi-final, and a place in the final awaits the victors. Will we have another Tralee/Killarney final? (Adrienne McLoughlin)
FIR MHÓRA NA CARRAIGE:
(i) It was great that our senior B boys reached the final of the Molyneaux Cup Competition by defeating An Baile Dubh by 0-2 but, unfortunately, they were defeated by Na Crócaigh i bPáirc Uí Chonghaile on Sunday last in that final. Mór an trua! They gave it their best shot but it wasn’t to be. Deinimid comhbhrón leo!
(ii) ‘Well done’ to Dara and a chuid fear sinsearach v Milltown/Castlemaine and best wishes to them in Round 4 v Neidín. Go to our website to view Adrienne McLoughlin’s photos.

SEANRÁ EILE:
Is fearr mac ag imirt ná mac ag ól! Tá sé níos fearr suim a bheith agat i spórt ná dúil a bheith agat san ól. Isn’t it better to have an interest in sport than to be just too fond of drinking.
