(i) Our Under 14 squad of 24+ players and their parents and fans, travelled the long 50-mile journey to South Kerry and had a good win i mBaile ‘n Sceilg (Ballinskelligs) last Tuesday evening. It was a most enjoyable trip to the beautiful scenic Uíbh Ráthach Gaeltacht. Bhain gach éinne taitneamh mór as an turas. Our lads were under no pressure to win as they had already qualified for the County League semi-final.
(ii) They faced Listowel on Tuesday evening last with a place in the County League final for the victors. A great showing, lads! Up The Rock! Thanks to parents and followers for their fine support; it was greatly appreciated.
(iii) Training continues on Friday evenings at 7pm and on Sunday[P1] mornings at 11.00am i bPáirc Uí Chonghaile. (Micko Horan, Jonathan Magnier)

(iv) The Division 1 fixture v An Ghaeltacht was played in Connolly Park and what a very good game of football was seen on our hallowed turf. (vi) Our U16B footballers had a productive outing to Killeen last weekend and they came away with an emphatic win over The Gaeil boys in Division 5 of the Central League. They started strongly with plenty running that, combined with good passing and sound decision making, ensured that they went into a good lead which they never relinquished. The work rate and teamwork shown by the lads was excellent and their tackling was of a very high standard. This approach allowed them to go into a strong lead which they maintained throughout the game. Even with the good lead our Black‘n’Amber stalwarts kept up their pressure, played excellent football and fought for every ball which resulted a very satisfying win. A very pleasant and enjoyable outing! The U16B team: Oran O’Regan, Alex O’Flaherty, Diarmuid Hennessy, Séamus Keenan, Tadhg Somers. Seán McCannon, Ryan O’Flaherty, Liam Swords, Noah Reidy, Joe de Barra, Ewan Canty, Elliott Calleja, Dean Courtney, Mark Foley, Oisín Cotter, Joe O’Halloran, Ediart Topali, Ryan McCord. (Ger Hobbert)
MINOR NEWS:
Our minors played wonderfully in their Central Region Division 2 final at the John Mitchel Club on Monday last against Milltown/Castlemaine. A brilliant game of football was provided by both sides and our boys come out on top….3-10 to 1-12. Joy unconfined! A good team that had defeated us in the group stages of the competition seemed to be bringing us to extra time when a great late Ryan O’Driscoll free put us ahead. Winning the following kick out put Jack Diggin through on goal and his chipped shot was finished to the net by an alert Ryan O’Driscoll; Ryan ended the game with 2-7 to his name. A good day for The Rock! The team’s efforts at training and their sheer hard work ensured that the Black‘n’Amber finished off the competition on a very positive note. Our training planners will now focus on the County League in the coming weeks. Agus, anois, beidh mionúir na Carraige ag díriú go huile is go hiomlán ar an tSraith Chontae! Idir an dá linn…in the meantime…we and everyone in The Rock are delighted that panel members Ronan Carroll, Ben Murphy and Gavin Casey have deservedly won the Munster U20 Championship final…éacht agus mórghaisce! And we say ‘well done’ our own Alex Tuohy and the Kerry minors v Cork on Monday last.
