PEIL FAOI 6/8/10/12:
Our official outdoor football sessions are finished for this season. Of course, every player is encouraged to kick ball at home…front/back garden, nearby green areas, etc…when fine evenings come along, especially on Saturdays and Sundays. Enjoy the long break from club activity, give plenty time to reading and to schoolwork during the long nights of Samhain and Nollaig and be looking forward to the feast of Christmas. We thank you all for being an important part of The Rock Club…players, parents, guardians, grandparents, siblings, fans and all others who have become a great supporting family. Our coaches, mentors, helpers and volunteers who freely give of their time and expertise in helping to develop of our young boys deserve great credit. Thanks, also, to our energetic club officers and to those who maintain pitches, gym, clubrooms, et cetera, namely, all who oversee the workings of The Rock system. (If any U6 boy was as láthair from the last session and didn’t receive his well-deserved attendance medal just let us know). It’s nice to know that The Bracker Regan Memorial Cup (received by Noah Conway), the Jimmy Barry Memorial Cup (received by Harry Stone), the Paddy Drummond Memorial Cup (received by Thady Healy), the Cecil O’Connor Memorial Shield (received by Mason Butler), the U10 Garry Fernane Cup (received by Hughie Maughan) and the John Galvin Cup (received by Ruairí Magnier) will now safely rest on sideboards, on mantlepieces, on shelves, et cetera, in various Rock homes for the coming months. (As November is a special time for remembering our past members, including the above-mentioned, who have gone to their eternal rewards, let’s say a prayer for them…may they rest in peace). Sin sin!

PEIL FAOI U16:

U16 Tralee/St Brendans Championship winners
The last Rock team standing! A busy week has just gone by! What a victory in the Tralee/St Brendan District football championship on Wednesday night (29ú) under the lights in Caherslee. What a great battle between two teams of brilliant Gaelic footballers who know each other well. ‘Well done’ to our boys who stuck to the task in unfavourable conditions and who ran themselves into the ground in their efforts to gain a victory. This was a real panel effort, particularly because of our ongoing injury situation; it was great to see the strength in depth…ní neart go cur le chéile agus ar scáth a chéile a mhaireann na daoine! This year we have won two titles. We are now the Tralee/Naomh Breandán District champions and the Central League fchampions or 2025! We are so very proud of our boys and…and the treble is still there for the taking as a mouth-watering County League Division 2 semi-final v Dr Crokes has still to be played. Black‘n’Amber v Dubh‘s’Ómrach!! Wow! This fixture date is not known at this time ach ní fada go mbeidh ‘fhios againn. U16 training continued over the weekend with a challenge match v Na Gaeil in Caherslee. Buíochas le muintir an Chillín for a very enjoyable and fruitful challenge match during which our mentors put their thoughts together and worked on a few plans and ideas such as trying lads in different positions, experimenting with various moves, giving the lads plenty of game time and making our stalwarts ready for our big encounter with the Killarney boys! (Ger Hobbert)
