TRÁ LÍ FAOI 15:
Another very enjoyable and successful round of the Greater Tralee Area development sessions took place on Saturday morning last from 10.30am to 11.45am in Connolly Park with several Rock boys involved. AdeS, K-O’R, Gaeil and Naomh Pádraig players were put through their paces by Kerry football development coach, Lorcan Martin, GDA. NB…These sessions are also open to all boys born in 2010 and in 2011 and who are not already in Kerry Development Squads.
PEIL FAOI U16:
Once again, we had two teams in action simultaneously on Thursday evening in Connolly Park. In Division 1B (A Team), after some serious player adjustments, changes and switches, a strong and blistering start put our A Team in a commanding position and that ultimately secured the points over Milltown/Castlemaine on a scoreline of 4-11 to 1-11. A good 2nd half by both teams made for a really good contest.
Two wins from two games is a great start to the league considering our manpower issues; that is testament to a strong enthusiastic and talented panel of U16 players. Our Black‘n’Amber lads are now nicely set up for the remaining matches v Na Gaeil and v Firies. Mouthwatering encounters ahead!

Our B Team (Division 9B) had a home tie against Na Gaeil. We were seriously outdone in the first half by a much stronger team. It was very encouraging to see our boys doing much better in the second half. That was very positive; and special thanks must be given to our U14 players who stepped up when required and contributed greatly to the team. Yet, despite that strong second-half showing by our lads, it was the visitors, Na Gaeil, who took the laurels. Final score: 2-8 to 6-12. Coaches were very happy with the attitude and effort on display and every player put in a good shift for the full hour; with the holiday season really affecting us we fielded very modified teams for those games. Thanks to our 2011 (U14) players who stepped up and showed their qualities. Well done, all!

Thanks to Milltown/Castelmaine, to Na Gaeil and to the referees, John and Kieran, for a very enjoyable evening of football. Players in Connolly Park on the 26th June: Ben Litchfield, Oisín Cotter, Darragh Lyons, Eoin Mangan, David Hobbert, Dean Courtney, Oran O’Donoghue, Harry Murphy, Jack Delaney, Jamie Casey, Joe Barry, Nathan O’Connor, Seán McCannon, Ryan O’Carroll, Danny Lane, David Ahern, Conor Murphy, Séamus Keenan, Jayden O’Dowd, Noah Reidy, Mark Riordan, Mark Foley, Joe O’Halloran, Oran O’Regan, Shane Carey, Conor Maguire, Harry Maguire, Matthew Murphy, Oisín Horan.
We trained on Tuesday in preparation for Thursday’s matches v Na Gaeil (Division 1B) in Killeen and v Legion (Division 9B) in Connolly Park. Upcoming games:
(a) 10th July: Foireann A – bye; Foireann B v Listowel (as baile).
(b) 17th July: Team A v Firies (ag baile i bPáirc Uí Chonghaile); Team B v Milltown (as baile). (Dan Ahern, Ger Hobbert)
NA MIONÚIR:
(i) ‘Well done’ to our minors who challenged Killarney Legion in Division 1 of the Keanes SuperValu County League on Monday last, (30th). The game was played i bPáirc an Doirín, Club an Léigiúin, Killarney!
(ii) Our good wishes to Wayne Quillinan, Alex Tuohy agus mionúir Chiarraí on their FINAL game of the season v Tír Eoghain. Wayne’s Warriors have, gan aon agó, the ability to conquer the boys from Ulster in the All-Ireland final in Newbridge on Sunday (6th).
CAID FAOI 21:
Mór-chomhghairdeachas to our U21 footballers on their heroic and hard-fought victory v Bordcheantar Naomh Ciarán in the Ask Acorn U21 county final. Thanks to the loyal Rock supporters who cheered them on. Our boys led by 0-7 at the break but the 2nd half was most exciting as the Naomh Ciarán side chipped away at The Rock lead and it took great saves by ‘keeper Michael Tansley and hard work by our backs to save the day! It was, indeed, a memorable Rock performance.
