Juvenile Club Notes 2nd August, 2022.

August 2, 2022 By Brian Caball

CAMPA PEILE: Our club Summer Camps are running very successfully this week (Tuesday to 12.30pm on Saturday). All are having a great time.

THE ROCK ALL-STARS: Austin Stack Club All-Stars are extremely excited about this week’s Cúl Camp which is the first inclusive Cúl Camp to be held in County Kerry. It’s taking place this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in our usual training grounds. This ground-breaking initiative is running as a result of the inclusivity of the club and the hard work and dedication of its members, trainers, coaches, volunteers, parents and children.
Oh to, Oh to be, Oh to be a Rockie!

PEIL FAOI 7 (born 2015/16/17): Football again on Sunday morning and on Thursday evening i bPáirc Uí Chonghaile. Mighty football expected!

PEIL FAOI 9: We’ll have U9 football action at 11am next Sunday morning as usual and again on Thursday at 5.30pm i bPáirc Uí Chonghaile. Our GoGames continue. Peile gan stró!

HELP THE CLUB: By purchasing a box of Kelloggs Corn Flakes, Rice Krispies or Bran Flakes and by nominating the Austin Stack Club for a possible windfall – €40,000 worth of prizes are available – you can help in supporting our club. This is part of the Kelloggs GAA Cúl Camp promotion….you just have to use the on-pack code….details on www.kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie/competition.

PEIL FAOI 11: The GoGames are going brilliantly for our U11 boys and are being enjoyed by all. See you all again on Thursday, lads! Up The Rock!

PEIL FAOI 13: (i) Central League: ‘Well done’ to all our boys v Laune Rangers in sun-drenched Connolly Park on Sunday last. Team Amber won their game on a scoreline of 5-7 to 1-10. A good victory! Team Black was unlucky on a scoreline of 2-12 to 5-12. Tough luck, boys, but remember that 2-12 is an excellent score! We’ll play Na Gaeil in Round 2 of the Central League this coming weekend. Come on The Rock!! (ii) Training sessions as usual this week….on Tuesday and on Thursday. Keep up the training, lads. You could be the Joe, Greg, Dylan or Jack of the future!

FAOI 15
: (i) Congrats to our Division 1 team that defeated Ballymac…3-20 to 0-9…on Thursday 28th in the semi-final of the Central Region League. The game was played in Ballymac. Killorglin’s Laune Rangers will be the opposition in the final. Time, date and venue to be decided. Good luck, boys. Up The Rock! ‘Well done’ to Oliver Lata, Liam O’Connell, Fionnán Ryan, Alex Tuohy, Naode Derege, Gavin Ó Cathasaigh, Aodhán Horgan, Max Maszorek, Gabriel Maszorek, Leon O’Connor, Rory Ó Loingsigh, Ronan Carroll, Ryan O’Driscoll, Cormac Bastible, Jake Carmody, Brian Kavanagh, Jayden Moriarty, Paddy Lucid, Jack Diggin.
(ii) We say ‘well played’ to our Division 5 boys who challenged Castleisland Desmonds in their Central Region League semi-final. The game was played on Tuesday evening (2th) in Connolly Park. Our boys: Seán Clifford, Jay Sweeney, Jayden Moriarty, Max Grzybowski, Brian Kavanagh, Tadhg Falvey, Jack Shanahan, Jack Diggin, Rory Kavanagh, Jake Carmody, Vinny Moriarty, Adam Johnston, Liam O’Connell, Leon O’Connor, Hawlie Cotter, Darragh Lyons, Barry Laide.

MÍCHEÁL HAYES – A TRIBUTE FROM A PUPIL: ‘Beidh cuimhne go héag agam ar dhul suas go dtí tigh Mhíchíl Uí Aodha gach Céadaoin agus mé ag ullmhú don Ardteist. Bhí cúigear againn ina sheomra suite ag labhairt Gaeilge leis. Thiteas i ngrá leis an teanga agus mé ag éisteacht leis….na nathanna cainte agus na seanfhocail a bhí aige! Deirtear go bhfuil an Ghaeilge deacair mar theanga ach bhí slí aige chun í a dhéanamh simplí agus éasca! D’fhreastail gach cara atá agam ar a ranganna….fir agus mná agus fiú daoine nach raibh suim acu sa teanga….agus ba mhór an tairbhe dúinn é! Bhí meas mór acu ar Mhícheál agus tá fós. Níor thuigeas ag an am gur thraenáil sé Mikey Sheehy agus Ger Power agus laochra peile eile nach iad. B’fhear iontach ildánach é. Ní bheidh a leithéid arís ann. RIP.’ (A.Breathnach a chuir peann le pár).

KERRY TEAMS: (i) What an evening in Connolly Park! The whole Kerry team, including 9 Tralee players (4 of them proud Rockmen), arrived with ‘Sam.’ How nice to welcome home our own Joe O’Connor, Jack Ó Sé, Greg Horan and Dylan Ó Cathasaigh. Everybody was delighted when Captain Joe spoke! Jack O’Connor also addressed the assembly and praised several Rock leaders, including Liam and Shane Lynch, Wayne Quillinan, Ger O’Keeffe agus an ‘Star’ féin. Jack used the word ‘ablach’ to describe Kieran Donaghy; that word has several meanings but ‘hulk’ is the most appropriate one! (ii) Mór-chomhbhrón le hAoife Ní Dhuilleáin, le Dara Ó Lúing (agus a chomhbhádóirí, Déaglán Ó Cuill agus Gearóidín Ní Shé) agus le Cailíní Peile Chiarraí, nár éirigh leo i gCraobhchluiche na hÉireann i bPeil Ghaelach na mBan i gcoinne na Mí Dé Domhnaigh seo caite. We look forward to 2023.
